G'day

I'm new to this forum so if I'm posting in the wrong place, sorry, and can i have direction to the right subforum, cheers.

Personally I've never dabbled with Sativas due to the fear of it triggering and making my social anxiety/ general anxiety much worse.

Does anyone know any good strains (and preferably the seed-bank too) that produces a sativa or sativa dominant hybrid that isn't really indica heavy and wont trigger my anxiety.

Some strains I was looking at were

- Super Silver Haze (Greenhouse Seed Co.)
- Original Sour Diesel (Cali Connection) (Yes I know its not “Sour Diesel”)
- Durban Poison (Sensi Seeds)

Like I said I've never dabbled with sativas so my strain choices may be way off, which is why im here.

Cheers :)

I have bad anxiety. All of those will be racy for me, lol. I smoke indicas all day. The most ideal thing would be a sativa x high CBD strain. I have a few from Great Lakes Genetics (bad dawg) that were freebies for buying something else. If you order from there you could request a CBD strain x Long Bottom Leaf (SFV OG x Jacks Cleaner) as your freebie. I have zero dark thirty x LBL. LBL is also called heart attack kush so it's a strong sativa

You build up a tolerance, If I were to not smoke for a while I feel it a bit more. I smoke only Sativa.
You need to figure out what you are paranoid about and deal with it. There is nothing in the weed that can harm you.
Also, if you grow your own, let it ripen well, then it is more sedative.

I think tangie is a great choice too, if you get the right plant the taste is totally on point and the high is quite light and mild. In the end I think a hybrid would suit your needs better, but good luck on your grow.

I have dealt with anxiety for 20 years now. And unfortunately there is not a easy answer to that question. The fun part is though you get try out as many as you can and find the one that works for you recently we have had Agent Orange orange which is excellent excellent daytime smoke up up energy up mood zero paranoia even after over-indulging still no paranoia.
Also green crack! Just a damn good sativa!

I have had bad experiences before with pot. I didn't smoke for a number of years because of it.

I've found that some sativas can cause it but it comes down to harvest time. Early cut commercial weed has caused it every time it happened to me. After I started growing for myself I haven't had it happen.

The cannabinoids that counter the negative effects develope late flower.

Don't cut early and let them ripen properly and that should help a lot.

I prefer hazes.

I used to get some anxiety when I smoked but that all stopped when I began growing it myself. Now I find sativas that make some people go to bed while others up laughing for hours, and still others paranoid in the corner. I grew a bunch of afghan from dna, those big packs, and one I kept for awhile a pure indica looked like the rest of them would make some soar to the moon and others drool on the couch. way to many variable to dial it down to a strain.

OP, without sounding like I'm oversimplifying the struggles that accompany chronic anxiety, remember, your own "thoughts" can be your worst enemy.
Again, not trying to trivialize your experience (or anyone else battling chronic anxiety) just replying based on my own clinical experience.

As far as recs, most true sativas will almost always trigger those neurotransmitters causing negative reactions and paranoia/panic can ensue.
You might be better off finding a decent sat. dominant hybrid and as @ANC said, let the tolerance build from there. Its very possible once you've built a healthy tolerance the feelings of "creativeness" will serve as a positive distraction from neg. thoughts/paranoia.

I like the idea of finding a balanced CBD Sat. And also agree that ripening is a big part of the end product.

I've grown a few hybrids/hazes/sats and from memory, one that sticks out is Bodhis Apollo (Bros Grimm is back to producing it now)

Some of these guys are hardcore Sat growers and can give you a more extensive list to try ;)

Hey @rollinfunk - That LBL stud Loran and DBJ are using is impressive. I've grown out 3 of those LBLs (working on the 4th) and haven't been disappointed yet.
The Starfighter F2 and DHOG? Face melters! :eyesmoke:

Strawberry Kush from ILGM. It's a 25/75 hybrid that's indica dominate. Really good shit, man.

You can also try for harlequin; this has a 5:2 CBD:THC ratio. This is one of the few sativas with higher CBD strain. So you can enjoy the calm body effects with a slight euphoric high.

I enjoy the racy stuff but I have some Jamaican landrace that makes me feel "Irie" Its not the strongest bud but it's a mood changer, it uplifts my mood while giving me a lil jolt of energy.

Your going to have to smoke whatever you get to know how it affects you so I wont suggest any particular strains. I'd get a 50/50 that is more sativa in effect and go from there.
