Safe distance from Spectrum King SK400+

Guys,

Any ideas on a safe distance for young plants or even mature plants? Shall I just stick to the 3 feet rule to play it safe?

I have a PAR meter. When the babies were under 300W of fluorescent, they were 2 inches away from the bulbs and the par was 300.

Currently they're under 2 x SK400+'s and placing them 4ft from the plant gives a similar PAR. I'm assuming this is OK for them and I'm not going to burn/bleach them.

Temp in the tent is 23 degrees C

Thanks,
J.

I would rather use similar PAR # as the 3feet rule. SK400 use a big reflector if I remember correctly and therefor they need more distance than other lights.
24" in flower (<1000μMol/s/m²)and 3-4' in veg(<500μMol/s/m²) should be okay.

Putting seedlings under SK400's is an enormous waste of energy, TBH. Start them under CFLs, or other smaller less intense light source until they get big enough for "big light"

No worries. To be honest if I had the time to hand water the seedlings each day, I'd keep them in the rockwool under CFL's a bit longer.
