rubbermaid mini flowering room?

you forgot to mention the prices of the paint + the price of the rubbermaid containers... the timer medium and others, are regular costs for every grower. I'd shoot myself in the foot, before I grow under CFL, anything but clones. I cannot imagine the oven you create in that plastic box filled with CFL's but then again to each his own...
P.S. did you know that CFL give out MORE heat per watt and LESS lumen per watt than HPS? this last grow, I got close to 20 Oz with 2 400w lights
Zem - Already had the totes, but good point. So $6 per - $12. I thought that $1 per can of cheapo spray paint was negligible, but if you must persist with negligible costs, let's compare your power usage costs to ours. Also CFL's heat....with a passive intake and an active exhaust I'm at 80* with lights on 6 hours into light period. Oven? Hardly.

how many watts of CFL do you run in a small box? I have been around for some time, cfl are less efficient and more heat per watt than HPS. Period. no matter what roseman or whoever said what, I do understand the will of some to do micro grows, but if it were me, I would go with 150wHPS or even 70wHPS for a micro grow. a 150 is quite small, I've seen people pulling good amount of bud from it. what would a 150w cFL grow yield? I am not a fan of CFL growing, actually I use them in cloner to warm it up. by the way I grow with 2x 400w HPS with a single 6" exhaust fan I do not use aircooled hood or any fancy ventilation and I pulled like 20 Oz from this last grow, still drying them to know the weight, but it is one heck of a harvest.

Lol no offense, but it's just kind of funny to me that you're the only person saying CFLs run hotter than HPS. There are many experienced growers, guides, articles, and marijuana growing sites who will tell you that this isn't the case and it's kind of hard to believe that all of them are wrong, but you're right. I am running 200 actual watts of CFL, don't know how much it's equivalent to but it's growing my plants real well.

And as far as 150 HPS being better than CFL...there are CFL grows in the CFL section that beat 150 HPS easily. You have better penetration when you can manipulate the location of your light source.

It's a lot easier to afford CFLs than it is to afford a light system like yours where it costs hundreds of dollars to set up and then the extra cost of ventilation. PC fan versus 6nch inline fan, tell me which is cheaper? Many people don't have that money to spend, especially all at once.

We all know HPS and MH produce good buds, but there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to grow in a rubbermaid or use CFLs. You can still get good weed. It has been proven that weed grown under CFLs aren't any less potent than MH or HPS.

Here's some pics of my grow (2nd week of flowering). Even though I don't have the biggest / best plants, they're still healthy and I get the wonderful experience of growing Mary Jane within a means that suits my budget and space. This is my first grow...imagine what I can do with more research and experience. Imagine what all the people better than me do with CFLs!

It kind of seems like you just have something against CFLs personally. Don't know why you keep trying to knock it. But this is my last post and hopefully someone found it informative :)

I am not trying to knock it, just that there are facts, and fact is, that cfl produce more heat PER LUMEN that is if you bring 150w HPS and 150w CFL, same wattage, CFL produces more heat and less light

Oh and I believe although I've adressed all of your "concerns"(hate), you still fail to compare my less then $10/month power use to your.....I'll wait.

"Like 20oz"...Wait,wait,wait....you pulled 20oz with 800W?.....So your "gram/watt" setup failed you by half a pound. Please feel free to argue your case, and if you pulled 20oz in a micro/stealth/cab grow, I'm going to call bullshit. I think you're in the wrong forum, sir.

I don't hate cfl growers lol and if you had any real experience, then you would know that 1gram per watt is like impossible to achieve, actually I havent seen it done except with people who do very good vertical setups but never wit regular setup. anyway, you missed the point! it's not about me, it's about cfls they give out more heat per watt. if you have low power bill, thats because you use low power, and get very little harvest. I dont mind a micro grow they are cute, but I advise anyone who does them, to use the smaller HPS lights, 150w, the power usage will be the same like using 150w cfl. as for me, well, I don't mind paying my own bill for 800w... please stop arguing and research, I only advise people for the better.... not "hate" lol
