how much pressure is that press supposed to make? what sized plates are those. i have been looking at those online and was curious how they performed(chinese hat press not the rosin tech products version).

Are you pre-pressing your buds into pellets? This helps. Don't use a filter bag on nugs, run them naked and then press the collected again at low heat using your filter. I like 200ish degrees.

hi, what do you mean pre-pressing nugs into pellets? you mean using the press? w/ no heat? and then pressing again at 200 degrees?

i'd like to do this with trim or kief. preferably not buds although i've tried buds, trim and kief and did not good results regardless of what i tried.

do you have one of these presses bugeye? thx

I take a couple grams of bud and give them a light steam if needed to soften them up. This can really increase yield in some strains or over dried buds. They then go in a pollen press and I hammer them into compressed disks. Pre steaming keeps them from crumbling up.

The disk then goes in parchment paper and I use a 1 ton arbor press with heated plates to squish them. I like to slowly compress them and then hold for 5 to 10 seconds. I get 90% on first squeeze and a trace amount on second press. Pretty darn clean but a second low temp filtered press cleans it up nicely, I just use tea bags for this so I can toss them.

If I try to go with larger pellets, I notice a big decline in yield so there is definitely a sweet spot for every press. Keep playing!

i have a rosin tech press gold series pneumatic plus.

i'm not getting good results. any one have this press and know good settings for it? i'm getting little to no yield from nug or trim presses.

i've tried 200-250-300 degrees and 5-10-20-30 seconds and only had 1 good result. i've also tried multiple different bags - 37u, 70u, 90u, 120u, 220u.

I've been Y-Tubing it up. We dont have a press, but.... we will be pressing soon most likely tonight. However, we are going to press de-carbed/ micro-planed hash and not waste time with flower. It seems that they are getting a better yeald. We are still using 75 and 25 micron bags, so it's still B- grade hash. However, that's the goal, make it better with less waste! It only burns once.
