So I bought a flat Iron tonight.. Cut my parchment paper into nice squares. Turned my flat iron to 50% ish and smashed some nugs.. Lol nothing happened..

The nugs are decent. Why did nothing happen when I squeezed em?

All I can say is you need tondial in the temp, just mess around with the temp dial until you start to get results. Having an iron that tells exact tempnis best, that way you can dial it in perfect. Butnim sure if you just mess around a bit youbwill get it

I dont know I turned the heat to 200ish? Then stepped on the flat iron for about 20 seconds.. Nothing happened except I got a great smell, lol but the parchment paper was clean? I was planning on doing some bubble or something but if I can't get results from nug then I guess I'll stick with BHO...

I was really excited to try Rosin but failed to produce a dab even with an 8th

I've had only 1 batch of bud that failed to produce rosin. The bud turned out to be a very low yielder, when I did an alcohol wash with it, I yielded only 8-10%. It was pretty potent just yield wasn't their.

What do you yield with this batch if you were to run it as bho?

I've never had success squishing bud. There's a lot of techs out there to get the most out of bud, but I just can't bring myself to keep pressing beautiful nugs and get nothing back.

Bubble or keif or hash of any kind though will always produce a rewarding squish.

If your pressing bud, I press at around 240f. I usually get a 18%-20% yield on bud pressing. It does hurt my heart to press bud though lol.

When I press bubble or keif, I get a 30%-40% yield and somehow I don't feel as bad pressing it lol.

Some strains just won't rosin well. With a hair straightener you have to be careful not to press buds that are too large because your body weight will not be enough to fully compress them and they won't release unless fully compressed. So break your buds down into cloves of dime to quarter size. If your buds are too dry, it will help to give them a short steam before pressing. Keep increasing your temps until you get to 300F. At some point you will hear the buds start to sizzle and they should start to release. Too much sizzle for too long and it will taste a little burnt.

touch your finger to the heat plate, if you can touch it, it's not hot enough, it should be hot enough to just barely touch it with your finger for maximum yields.

Bro im pretty sure its from that crappy tin of beer you was having making rosin. Its not the most adequate!

Apart from what everyone else has said i can only think moisture, if it aint bone dry sometimes it dont rosinify.
Remember that rhyme it shall help you in future times.... and stop drinking shitty tinned beer, thatll help too :P

same thing happened to me

imo kief or water hash works best to get max return....
so run the buds thru a sifter. collect kief.. press 1g kief... weigh it..
do not use less than .8g of kief....
hope this helps...
have fun :bigjoint:

Dry is good for rosin, try turning your flat iron up higher and pressing down harder. Good luck to you :)

Why dont you brew your own?

Check out a couple of my home brews

I kinda like bottlingIMG_20160218_151437.jpg

ps: i love the high from homebrew especially the hoppy ones. man a couple bottles of homebrew and a pinky nail sized dab and youre fucking on it! Plus no hangover cause unfiltered beerhas a lot of vitamin bs. Costs me between 20 and 30ish euro cents a liter (with buying posh jugs of pirineean water). Plus you can just use your mother room for fermentation. youll just hafto to add extra extraction for the co2 cause co2 is harmful for plants, as im sure youre aware.
