Roots Organics Nutrients

Hey RIU. I just had a couple questions about this line of nutrients.
I picked up a starter pack just to give it a shot for a grow.
I have the following.
Buddha grow
Buddha bloom
Trinity
Ancient amber
Hp2
Hpk
Extreme serene
Amino aide
Big swell
Oregonism xl
Uprising grow
Uprising foundation
Uprising bloom
Elemental

It's quite an elaborate system, so im just curious if anyone has experience with these. If so do you follow their provided feeding schedule verbatim? And since these are considered organic, it's safe to feed every watering, correct ?

Wow you went all out. I used the Roots stuff a few years ago when they first came out, but I don't think they had half of those products available back then. I liked them as an into to organics, but I think you could take a peak at the ingredients and replicate their stuff for cheaper using bulk dry ammendments.

Even with organics I wouldn't feed every watering. But you can feel your plants out and see how much they need.

Kinda looks like they want to be the AN of organic nutrition......That's a lot of products that command a lot of dollars....Organic's is simple...

These will prepare you to do it easy on the next grow, without all those wallet emptying pre-made nutrients.

Well honestly I wasn't planning on using this line. I had my eyes on Canna coco nutrients. But this master 5 ml pack of RO was only $40 for everything I listed. And with my grow, it'll be enough to last a full cycle. So why the he'll not. Lol
I have looked at the bottles to see what's going on with it all. A lot of it seems redundant.
AAnyways. The feeding chart literally says to use 5 ml of each nutrient the whole grow. Obviously not every nutrient goes in the mix eveylry feeding, but the ones that do, are fed at 5 ml per gallon. Seems strange to me.

Yea they are definitely throwing out a lot of product. For $40 though, I think it's worth a shot.

That seems to be the standard amount that organic lines recommend. I used the General Organics lineup a few years back and they recommend 5ml per gallon every watering of most of the stuff too. IIRC I only did that every second watering though. I'd give them just plain water every second time.

Roger that, I appreciate the input.

I am using the HPK as a bloom booster in my organic grow but have only given them like 2 applications. Doesn't seem like my plants really need it as much as the guy at the hydro store told me they would. I did not have good results with the Buddha grow & bloom either and ended up using regular 2 part nutrients to finish my plants last run. The BB & G just would not provide enough N; plants were light green to yellowing until I gave them some bloom nutes & cal mag but then again at the time I was using a very weak mix & was not yet concerned about preserving the microlife in my soil. Was also using city tap water. Not sure about the rest of the line but I think if you've got yourself a good organic mix you can probably toss out most of that stuff. Good luck happy growing

Well I was looking at the whole line and it seems as if most of them serve a purpose. And a lot of the additives provide the extra N, which may be why you experienced the light green color.. Either way I have then so I'll give them a shot.
I did read I should mix my nutrients 24 hours in advance before feeding. I guess this allows the PH to adjust itself. Is this true and necessary ?

Probably would be a good idea to bubble with an airstone overnight which is what I did with the HPK as suggested. Aerating likely gets the microbes jumping around & multiplying as they need a constant supply of fresh O2

Makes sense. I don't know a while lot about the organic life . I need to read some books like others suggested. But I'll airate the mix overnight then. We'll see how it goes

I used the uprising years ago. You have to use 2-3 times more than it says. Works ok. But there's better options.

So as I look into it more, I'm getting more questions...
With these organics, and growing in coco, where does that leave me as far as PH?
Am I supposed to adjust the ph of my nutrient mix as a normal coco grow ?
Or do I need to amend the coco with dolimite lime and take ph readings of the runoff, and adjust accordingly ?

Roots Organic stuff is lame in my opinion. Too complicated, too pricey and too difficult to use. The ferts gave me fits with ph swings and actually needed to be adjusted up, which should never happen. I swear this company is out to rip folks with their fake folksy/organic BS.

Seems like th general consensus here is that you should use what you already paid for, and use the time during this grow to learn how to make your own nutrients the next go round. That's what I did.

Eh, I might Do that.

Here's the whole scoop. I'm actually 6 week a into flower now. I was gifted a starter pack of aptus nutrients but ran out of most of them. Since aptus is an 'organic' bases line, I wanted to get something similar to finish the next 4 weeks. I didn't feel like paying for aptus, even though it has been simple to use with good results.
That said, I got these roots organic for $40. Not bad. But I should have read up a little more because I'm thinking these will mess me up these last week's. I might pick up something else to finish these girls off and use the roots organic on the next batch using soil

Go very lghtly and use nutrients only ever other watering is my experience.
1/2 of label recommendation is good in my use.
