My babies are 10 days old. They're lookin great and healthy and are at about 3 1/2 inches tall. But my babies have no roots showing through the net. One of the plants has a tiny little root showing thru the net pot, but u can barely see it. But they're obviously gettin the nutes they need, the way they're growing. has anyone ever had a plant take this long to show roots. Also keep in mind that my babies are in a 4" net pot if that has anything to do with it.[IMG] [IMG]

sometimes, how are your temps? Should be about 79 degrees with your water temp around 68. You should only be using 1/4 strength nutes with a ppm of around 300 till the root hit the water. Sounds like a temp issue to me...

yes bubbleponics. Room temp is at 78 f and water is 76 f. how can I get the water any colder than room temp. I've got 3 fans running in that room.

No, I wouldn't. Your plants look healthy and for right now, that's all you need to know your roots are doing their job. What kind of lights are you using? What I do sometimes when my res temps are to high is I add a couple 16oz bottles of frozen water. I have four and I throw two in at a time, and just switch em out when the next ones freeze. That'll help to keep your res temps down. Your room temps seems perfect. Any idea of the humidity?

And as far as nutes go, as long as you don't see and signs of toxicity or discoloration, and your leaves are healthy green your doing fine. Some strains take better then others. I had a seedling with the cotyledons and one leaf set put roots down in the water before a plant with three full leaf sets before. Your doing fine bro, just don't over think or overdo. That's the best advice I think I've ever gotten about hydroponics.

As long as your plants are growing and look healthy, just wait it out. Don't worry at all.... If the plant stop growing or look bad, then something might be up...

jsut because your roots are not showing doesnt mean that they never will...it takes time...its going to fill the crevices of the rocks before it goes out the bottom of the pot

and adding those bottles don't affect my pH or imbalance anything right? can the plants be in the water with the frozen bottles. no shock? As far as lights I'm vegging w/ a 400 w MH and will change to a 400 w HPS for flowering.
. As far as humidity IDK. I don't have a meter but there's really no humidity in that room. I' ve got 4 fans running. 2 oscillating fans(one small 1 hanging blowing directly on light. Then 2 big still fans. 1 blowing IN the actual closet and another blowing OUT the closet. I did this to keep air movement in the grow room.

No, the bottles don't change anything, which is their advantage over ice cubes. Ice cubes can cause shock if they come in contact with the roots and depending on the ice can change your pH and ppm, while the ice in the bottles is contained so its not a problem. I've never had shock from using the bottles. No problem man...

also is my water level fine where its at? I have my starter plugs about 2" from the bottom of the net and my water level about 1/4" above the net.
