standard root zone temp has always been 5-15 degrees Fahrenheit/Celsius less than the surrounding air temp, regaurdless of the growing medium, but that said to, growing in a desert air temp can easily exceed 100f, as one would expect rootzone temps to be about 88-95f ...but hey once the air temp has passed 75f the plant goes to sleep anyways ...lol
...and you won't be the first to boil you DWC roots by using a heater or forgetting the pump heats the water too ...lol

I hear ya, but they dont grow weed in the desert, or do they? - Sorry Vostok, but that is a politician's answer to the question posed, You forgot to pick your temp that you would set your thermo to to induce roots?

Growing medium, so hydroponic water temp would be no different than soil temp?

Cloning ...is but common "Cambium Engineering" the simple process of growing fine rootlets from the underlying tissue of the plants 'bark' (IMO) temperature is quiet irrelevant to the plant other than the plants 'comfortable temperature', that is 70-72F or 22 Celsius ..not listed, any higher you risk breeding bacteria, any lower cells go dormant, that at the same time temp is of the low scale, of more importance... is keeping them in the dark, so the hormone Epi....(forget) can be active to stimulate those knobs, also note tho I prefer the clone bubbler, for simplicity, and guaranteed success ...lol
There is much total BULLSHIT associated with cloning that has been posted in the last 3-4 years that is just dumb, stay sharp

I was suppose to start @ 22c and I cannot find a way to add more to the pole? Currently set to 23c.

I have been looking at bubbler cloners......would you have a pic of your said cloner?

I grow in 2L square/round containers - clone to 12/12 SOG. How do you think the plants root system will go in regards to holding a foot long stick up, I do plant them fairly high in the container also.

Being cynical here - if only one person answers to the above, then all the rest must be doing it wrong or agree with Vostok?

Do you have your root zone temp set to 22c?

I am trying to ascertain the correct root zone temperature by placing the temp probe directly into a cube and measuring.
Root zone temp is like asking what the best temp for ur plants are. There are soooo many variables in determining what that should be such as: co2 supplementation, room temperature, whether ur using soils, drain to waste soilless, or hydroponics. Root zone temps ideally considering ur ambient room temps are correct shud fall somewhere between 67-73 degrees.

Under 65 and nutrient uptake is diminished, over 75 and pahtogens and bacteria begin to take over. If ur room is upwards of 80+ then u need to lower root zone temps and lower ur watering temps.

For example if ur room is 85 ur gonna wanna start dropping ur water during feeding temps lower to combat the higher temps. When im running hot during summer or co2 injection I've water in the low 60's with no issues. I wouldnt go lower than 60F ever as u can cause issues such as lock outs and deficiencies bcuz when temp gets too cold in rhizosphere nutrients arent able to be broken down and absorbed properly. BOL
