Root rot? New to DWC

IMG_20171215_214716.jpg So this is my Purple Bud by sensi seeds. It is 12 weeks old in veg. I feed it GH grow + bloom , magne cal plus , occasionally advanced nutrients B53 (though I find too much discolours the roots reddish brown).
I used to also add Cannazyme though I noticed when I started using that the roots went brown and when I removed it they went white again so I leave that out.

PH ranges from 5.2-.6.1 over the course of a week. And PPM is between 350-450 after res change. Water temp is 63-68 degrees and the air temperature is 72 degrees.

Anyway long story short my old airstone broke so I had to use a small tiny temporary one to keep it Alive while I was away for 4 days. When I left the plant was healthy though the roots were not perfect.
Is root rot causing the leaf discolouration and brown patches or are my PPMs wrong. Please help a brother out.

I'm new to this sight and I have a great coco grow on the go in early flower so if Anyone wants to see let me know.

Thanks. I have wrapped black and white plastic sheeting around the bucket to make sure no light leaks in.

I see lots of issues at play. First get yourself a blue 5gal bucket from Lowes. They are like $2.97. Though I believe walmart is starting to sell blacks for that price, so may check there.

Black air tubing. Use a cheap $1.80 6" blue activeaqua air stone, dont need anything fancy.

For next time get a netpot lid. Not sure it looks like you have a hack and slash recyclables setup going patched with black and white poly.

Onto the plants, they look majorly stressed out and sad. Especially for 12 weeks. Your roots dont look that great, doesnt look like root rot, but they should be white with that temperature.

What meter are you using to get the ppm readings?

What is your starting ppm of the water?

You said pH drifts from 5.2 to 6.1 or 6.1 --> 5.2?

Oh and ditch the rockwool. I went back to it recently and remembered how bad it sucks. I used an aerocloner with great success.

The ppm meter is a cheap eBay one. I need a new one though I use 3/4 of what the nutrient bottles suggest. The bucket is a 16 litre dark blue and the plant is in a netted pot. I can get better photos to show you tonight the full set up.

This plant actually looked perfectly healthy 6 days ago. I have since fully light proofed the bucket and duct taped the airline to keep light out. Water temperature is 62 degrees Right now.

What brand is it? Can you at least do an EC reading. PPM is a junk reading without knowing how its converting EC to PPM.

And what about your starting water?

A bubble bucket setup is like $8 with air stone and tubing. Why cheap out there?

DIY has its place in some cases and in others it just exposes the people tripping over dollars to pick up pennies.

The cheapest dwc prefabricated set up was £40 that I could find. Guess I looked In the wrong place. So I made my own for like £15. It has a second air pump as of yesterday though

Looks good man! I think I might stick with coco growing after this attempt though if I can't combat these root issues. I'm hoping I've taken all the steps to fix this.

I think its a lack of nutrition issue.

What are you feeding it?

You said your 350-450ppm and 100ppm of that is your water thats only 250-350ppm.

Is your feed dropping or rising?

It is 8 litres of water and I use
4ml General hydro grow and bloom, 5ml of advanced nutrients B52 and 2ml of plant magic magne cal plus. I occasionally add some advanced nutrients sensi grow coco every now and then because of the extra additives but it does have pH perfect technology which fucks with PH so I rarely use it. Only when I think it needs some extra sulfur or something

350ish ppm when freshly changed rez

what a random range of products.
idk if those AN bottles have micronutrients in them, but the GH flora trio requires micro, you cant just use the gro and bloom.
