The Thomas C Slater Compassion center finally got the ok to purchase excess meds from the c/g's (and patients) for the opening on the 19th. If you are interested, please contact the center at (401) 274-1000 and ask for the procurement dept to make an appointment. No walk-ins please.

Grow 'em up!!

Hey Russ one of the ladies in the front office mentioned they have the OK to procure overages from patients as well. Is this the case?

Hey Russ, or anyone else..... Have any of you guys/gals actually gone in and spoken to them about selling them overages?? What is the criteria? What are they looking to pay? And how much will they take? Lastly, lets say you were bringin them an lb.... You get pulled over on the ride and searched.... Are you protected, or are you getting locked up?? Just wondering, because I dont want to waste the time someone else has already wasted asking the same questions. Thanks guys

Jay, your best bet is to call the center and ask for Joel or the procurement dept. They can take plenty. I believe they have pick up services available if travel is your worry. Price will depend on what you bring in.

Few people i spoke with have been told 2k per lb. Joel said he may consider coming to pick up meds if you go in an speak with him first and he feels it would be a safe transaction. There are no new rules for cardholder. So you travel or posess more than your 2.5 Or 5 oz mark you will be arrested if pulled over.

lbh prob know answer to that... i would assume an ssi member would get 225 as price. normal patient without ssi would be about 300 albiet. thats just a guess though.

yes you have to turn in the paperwork with 25 money order to list slater center as a caregiver before being able to get meds.

Hey Play, we gonna see that ripac kush on the shelves? :-)
I really don't have excess as I only grow enough for my patients and self, while the rest of my quota goes to seed production. I will call procurement and see if I can get my seeds for sale in there.

peace

Plus 7% sales tax on everything you buy. There is a 3% or 4% state dispensary tax but I'm not sure if its paid by the center or patients. They have a huge overhead so a 100% markup, like most other retailers, would not be unreasonable.

I'm sure that it's going to be strain dependent also. If there is a strain, edible or concentrate that flies off the shelf the grower is going to catch on and the price will adjust accordingly. Basic supply and demand. Once there is competition from other centers growers that deal with them will be able to shop around for the highest price. So anyone can say what the prices are now but once they open the doors the market will decide.

RIght now, we're just trying to help get them open ......that's the main priority so whatever any of the folks out there can do will be a bonus for the patients and appreciated by the center. I agree w/ nobarriers, in time, the better growers and the prices, will all sort themselves out. 8 more days till history is made in RI.

Agreed LBH. I'm working on packaging for my edibles and tincture over the weekend and will go see what deal is this week...

I just talked to Slater today. If you have an overage now and you're willing to let it go for $125/oz. on net 30 terms you should give them a call. They will come to you and pick up and they will take as much as you've got.

Net 30 terms?

man, 125 oz... i know he needs helping getting up but cali dispensaries will pay more. Oh well, when i have my setup more dialed ill be able to help out.

Anyone know what prices for oz is for ssi and for normal patients at slater?

Lb for 2000 - 35% = 1300 a lb so you need atleast 2 lb a month to cover rent an electric alone... doing multiple strands which may not yield as well as others ect.

state could change laws for caregiver to register more patients and we mine as well help patients out with cheaper numbers than giving to dispensary for pennies ffor them to charge double to the patients... atleast if they gave back to the card holders alittle more considering we have taxes to pay and cpa ect to pay just like them, it would seem like they care more about the cardholders who will keep them in buisness.

I just started as you know and just finished one run which was a journey of planning, equipment acquisition, trial and error, temperature crises, plants in distress, utility bills spiking, weeding out males, learning to clone, dry, trim, cure, and on and on. At this point, for me, I would honestly rather give away 28 samples in exchange for a review of my meds.

You need to be doing volume. For patients growing 12/12, the spread is too thin.
