I just saw your plans for the chiller so i figured you would be of the intrested parties... =]

I just like the satisfaction of having built my own stuff... Plus they just dont make half the $#!t i want... =]

Also thought about canabalizing parts from something like this...

Www.geekshoponline.com :: Product Details

i have one of those and i think it would would excellent if you can make it water proof mine only has the 12v for my car. but i think you are onto something

So i decided to gut my road fridge....it's pretty much a big heat sink w/ some heat exchangers and well you look for yourself. i took the basin that everything sits in and i cut it w/ some tin snips, i'm going to place it under my res or in a plastic bag in my res. this thing gets really cold like 40degrees. i will also have to convert it to 110v and keep a good eye on my res temp i don't want it goin below 65. what do you guys think? if it's aluminum it might not affect my nutes or reedings but i don't know. this is a good thing i am almost sure of it

I am not sure aluminum will work.

The Aquarium guys have tried it all first,
and they only use titanium.

Nutrients are salt
and we all know what salt water does to metal.

I am going to build a water fall with some pvc pipe & 1250gph pump,
plus blow cool air over the surface of the rez,
along with keeping the room temp 68-70º with a window unit.
I think it will be cheaper than buying another chiller.

Some guys are growing with rez temps in the 50ºs.
I don't like mine to ever get above 68º
You can never have too much DO.

Well here is the water block i plan on using...
It is anodized to prevent corrosion but i am unsure weather this will be enough...

::: Zalman, leading the world of Quiet Computing Solutions :::

The block will be attached to the COLD side of the peltier TEC module (hot side will have a heat sink and fan) and the res water will be circulated through the block to cool the water...

If i could find a titanium water block i would use that instead...

I can probably make one once i take my cold metals class in school... =]

If nothing else i can still use the peltier and instead of a water block use a heat sink and fan on both sides and just take EARLS air cooled res idea a little further... =]

I would still rather directly cool the water so if i can figure out how to do that i will...
