Brayden was 8 months old when we met him about two months ago. He has been suffering from subclinical and infantile spasms among other types of seizures since birth, and was already steadily being put on a dangerous cocktail of AEDs by his doctors to attempt to control the seizures.
As you can see in the video posted below, within minutes of Brayden's first dose of a medicine made from mixed strains that is 1:3 CBD:THC....he was holding his head up on his own. For the first time!!
He was seeing. With his EYES! For the first time. Brayden wasn't able to see anything at all before these very moments, yet he opened his eyes to see us. To see his mom and his dad, right in front of him, finally putting an image to the sounds of their voices.
Brayden continued to hold his head up for hours without tiring and was pushing himself up off the ground and rolling over to move around within days of starting his treatment. His medicine does not get him high, but instead, it protects his brain from damage while generating new healthy cells to replace those previously damaged, while preventing the majority of his seizures.
Higher CBD options were attempted as well as not to assume that the first option would be the best option. It didn't take long for Brayden's parents to see that the higher CBD medicines weren't affecting him in the same positive way that the higher THC ratio medicines were.
Brayden also benefits from using an inactivated medicine made from several high THC Indica dominant strains for a "Full Spectrum" of cannabinoids, and this medicine is completely non-psychoactive.

Noah wasn't able to play with puzzles before using 2:1 CBD and higher THC strains, let alone play with another child. And Emery didn't share his puzzles before using these medicines himself.
This is a video of Noah and Emery cooperating on the same puzzle. They can play together at a limited amount of activities because of Cannabis. You'll notice that when Emery takes a puzzle piece from Noah's hand in a hurry to put it in it's proper place, instead of being upset in any shape or form, he happily signals that the puzzle is finished and that he would like a drink or a reward.
Noah wasn't ready for ABA before using higher THC oils, but once they saw what he was capable of on the right medicines, they were not only impressed, but agreed to administer his cannabis oil rescues in the event that he has a seizure while in their care.
This film is really important and the reason we're producing it is simply because it doesn't exist yet but in the hearts and minds of those who have experienced what we want to express in the film. The more funding we can raise to produce the film, the better we can make the film and the more potential there will be for more films to follow that will build on and grow from each other.
Our aim with this film is to bring Autism into focus and show that it's not just about preventing seizures for these kids or regulating behaviors, it's about regulating hormones, neuronal activity, growing new brain cells, super-charging mitochondria....it's about kids being happy and comfortable in their bodies for the first time. It's about the possibility of an entirely impossible future for Autistic families.
