Residency Time

I read that in order to qualify for a medical marijuana card you need to have established residency in the state of CA for at least one year. I was wondering if there is anyway around this. I'm someone from out of state(MA) contemplating a move to southern CA(not just for marijuana(although would greatly benefit me medically) but still, the idea of being in such a rich area and not being able to get a card for a whole year, sucks. Or do you just need a California driver's license or form of ID(does this take a year to get as well?). Lastly, would it be better to see a doctor in CA or are the visits to my doctor in MA(to verify my condition) sufficient(and then just take these records to the appropriate doctor in CA for the actual recommendation)? Thx.

my understanding is you just need residency showing you live in california however if someone could verify that would be great

You need a drivers license (Or State ID card) Or even the receipt "Intern" ID receipt.

I was in town for 3 months and got a card, I could have got one the same day.

I think you need what ever the DMV requires for an ID card,

My little brother came down to visit and has a washington Id, he just said he was staying with me for a while and he got his! not all doctors require a cali id! I got mine with no real picture ID just the receipt from the ca dmv.
