Reservoir health / Early Root Rot Question

Hey guys, I have a question about reservoir problems. I have one of my girls in a 5-gal DWC res going on week 7 of vegging. I'm using tap water with starting ph of 6.0, ppm of 25. Strain is Northern Lights, nutes/additives are:

GH Flora series - 1 tsp/gal
GH CaliMagic - .5tsp/gal
Botanicare Hydrogaurd - .5tsp/gal

I'm running at least 1.3w of air per gallon, my res temp sits around 70-72f, ambient temp bounces from 65-80f between night/day. Humidity ranges from 50-60%, and I'm using sterilite tubs wrapped in panda film for lightproofing. I change the res once a week and scrub tubs/lines/airstones with white vinegar when I do.

Two days ago the airline feeding this tub failed and the plant sat un-aerated overnight, 12 hours at least if not more. When I first checked the res it STANK. Like kale that's gone bad. ph was 6.8, from 5.8 the afternoon before.
Looking at my roots, they were still white and healthy looking and not slimy to the touch. But they smelled like death. I changed out the water in the tub, scrubbed the res, lines and stones down with vinegar, and rinsed my roots with plain tap water water until they smelled happy. I didn't use any sterilizing solution or h202.

After sitting overnight my res stinks just as bad as it did yesterday, and my ph is again sitting at 6.7. Which brings me to my question: What's the best way to clean roots in system that runs bennies? Right now there doesn't appear to be any obvious root rot but it smells like it's coming.

What would you do to protect your roots?

point.1 gram of bleach per liter of reservoir, or make some pool shock and use that, same thing as long as you get NON scented Non drip proof bleach. can go up to 6 or 7 ppm for a few hours, then change the water again and keep point .5 ppm at all times.

trichoderma is normally your best bet

plus ph and bubble your water with bennies for a day or 2 at least before adding it to your plant res makes it way more stable

but you may need to wash the roots with Jeyes fluid or something like that

Personally, I would try 1tsp/gal (5ml/gal) of hydroguard and see if that helps. It should.
I'll try this first, easy enough.

I've been reading through Heisenberg's microbe thread and plan on brewing some hearty tea to take back my res.

Is the shock added to the nutrient solution or just plain water? My PPM meter doesn't read in tenths:neutral:

i make a solution up thats about 50 ppm, then check my res, and add till it raises the ppm in the res about 1 ppm, the chlorine will drop quite a bit the first few hours, as it binds with stuff in your res to kill it. once you get it going about every 4 days ought to be enough
