Res temps in dwc cabinet?

Curious if anyone is running something similar to say a super closet with dwc. Can it be done successfully without a chiller or external res? Temps in my current cabinet get up to 85, which I'd probably want something bigger anyways but just to throw a number out there

trust me. you dont want your res temps higher than 72 max. i kept mine at 66-68 this winter

Yep. You can freeze water bottles and drop em in the res to keep it down. Otherwise you will get slime, root rot etc.

Free: frozen water bottles will help, but not consistent or Buy: cool works ice probe works well, but not cheap. Also, would recommend using a cooler as a rez if that's possible.

I started a DWC grow with a stealth hydro kit and I promtly ditched the cheap rubbermaid tote and got a cooler. It helped my temps a lot. In the middle of summer, I used to drop a frozen 20 ounce bottle in the res every 12 hours and it kept the res around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
