Republicans fight Cuba

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is breaking with other Republican presidential hopefuls and backing President Obama's decision to launch talks normalizing relations with Cuba. Paul criticized the trade and travel embargo on Cuba as ineffective, separating himself from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who have criticized Obama and backed the embargo. All four men are considered likely contenders for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. "In the end, I think opening up Cuba is probably a good idea," Paul told Tom Roten of WVHU radio in West Virginia, The Associated Press reports. "The 50-year embargo just hasn't worked," Paul said. "If the goal is regime change, it sure doesn't seem to be working, and probably it punishes the people more than the regime because the regime can blame the embargo for hardship."

Isn't Rand Paul just dreamy? He is the only candidate who wants to not only increase our freedom to cultivate and ingest a plant, he wants to release those who are already locked up for it.

It took an act of congress to keep Obama's DOJ from raiding legal dispensaries.

Rand Paul, our choice for freedom in 2016!!

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the incoming Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says he supports the relaxing of restrictions placed on Americans traveling to Cuba. “Well I haven’t fully digested it, but I could tell ya, I have been not only to Guantanamo Bay to look at our facility there, but I’ve also actually been to Havana,” said Chaffetz “I had to get a religious visa in order to get to go there — I went with Senator Jeff Flake. I gotta tell you, it bothers me, as an American, I should be able to travel anywhere I want to in the world. It is the only place on the planet that the United States government prohibits Americans from going to. And that seems ridiculous.”

Sen. Robert Menendez (N.J.), the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is slamming President Obama over the deal to release an American held in Cuba.

“President Obama's actions have vindicated the brutal behavior of the Cuban government," Menendez, known for his tough stance on Cuba, said in a statement.
"There is no equivalence between an international aid worker and convicted spies who were found guilty of conspiracy to commit espionage against our nation."

Nice attempt at spam.

Rend pawl has made it quite clear that he wants to continue to jail people for smoking pot.

And Obama has not raided a single legal dispensary.

100% failure, just like your life.

Dumb racist spammer.
