Hey guys, I need a good replacement for hydroguard available in Canada since hydroguard is illegal over here.

I heard about great white and voodoo juice.

I need such a product because I can't control the temps of my dwc reservoir.

check out pondzyme. it's bacteria based pond clarifier. all natural. probably at home depot/menards etc

i'm trying water fountain enzymes at the moment. carefreeenzymes.com

you can also go sterile: h2o2, chlorine, dutchmaster zone to name a few

everything has to have a label of contents, if something on that list is prohibited in one state, or country then it can't sold in those places.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I did some research and found that the product 'Great white' does the job and actually has more ingredients but less of hydroguard's main ingredient. The price isn't that bad at 46$ CAD with shipping.

If you're trying to stretch a buck, have you seen this post yet? https://www.rollitup.org/t/dwc-root-slime-cure-aka-how-to-breed-beneficial-microbes.361430/

It's a long post, but Heisenberg tea is great, I started using it after I had an issue in my current dwc, but I'm going to be using it all the time from now on.

If you can get your hands on earthworm castings, I def recommend it. Aquashield is basically hydroguard, but great white can substitute for it.

This man knows wtf he is talking about. 100$ will gets enough tea to treat probably 2,000 gallons of res water. Use the method for maintaining if you aren't fighting slime (1 cup each rez change). I use Emerald Harvest CalMag now in my rez because it has kelp extract that feed the bennies and its cheaper then most other big brands without kelp. Then add a enzyme and some aminos and you never have to use a sweetener again! :)

Where did you get Great White for $46 CAD? Was is on amazon.ca for 1 ounce? (https://www.amazon.ca/Plant-Success-Revolution-PRPSGW01-1-Ounce/dp/B00A8PG6RI/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=great+white&qid=1589832861&s=lawn-garden&sr=1-4)
If so, it's just a price gouge. The 1 oz sells for $14USD. I'm looking for a better value option.

I've checked out the Southern Ag Fungicide but from my understanding it only has 1 strain of Bacillus bacteria where as Great White has many strains as well as endo and ecto mycorrhizae. Canada seems to have nuked to beneficial bacteria market!

Its also like 1/20th the cost and just as effective for most people. Its the same strain as hydroguard which people have used successfully for years.
Yes great white has many strains, but it would cost more than my nutrient to use at the recommended rate in my system size.
A bottle of southern ag $16 per liter and 5ml treats 50 gallons.
GW is not cost effective at all for anyone growing in anything bigger than a single bucket.
