Replace 1k hps in a 4x4 or 5x5.

I need some help, I havent read up on diy leds in a long time and a lot has changed. Last I remember everyone was sticking to one or two cobs per driver and that has changed. I want to have 600w in a 4x4. I want to use the 3590s. What is the best driver Cob combination? I would like a set up I could dim to 600w so when better leds come around I can just switch out the cob not the drivers as well.

12 x 62w cobs would be 744w which would kill it in a 5 x 5 and if you use 3 x of the mw hlg-240h-1750b you can do this and also dim them to well below 600w if you wanted.each of those drivers will run 4 x 3590. so many ways you can do this though,50w x 15 cobs @ 1400ma will hit about 750w also using 3 drivers and be dimmable if you chose the "b" version

At what amps is passive cooling not enough? I would like to cool them passively if I can.

Could I get three of the 320@1400ma and use 15 cobs? Maybe 16 cobs with four hlg-240h-1750b would be better?

Where is everyone buying the meanwells and crees from?

How can I calculate the amperage draw at the wall?

have you done any reading in this section ? meanwell data sheets for amp draws.jerry@kingbrite for cree,cobbybobby for shitizens. @robincnn HAD 140mmx80mm heatsinks that are good to 75w passive BUT for some reason stopped carrying them :wall::wall::wall:
25 cobs @ 1050ma would be best :eyesmoke:

You notice i asked for amp draw on a specific driver because there is about oh lets see hundreds of potential combos depending on which driver you choose and what kind of power you put into them lmao.if you want the answers to those other questions they are in my thread you just cherry picked ;)
Tell us what driver you are using and i can give you info on it for USA power configs.peace

Aim for around 600-850PPFD from there go with what ever price point you prefer... Wether its efficiency, or initial cost... If you aim for that output you will be happy.. Since it's more than a 1000W DE HPS

Notice I asked for amp draw on two specific drivers with two different setups that you actually quoted me saying, because I know there is about oh lets see hundreds of potential combos depending on which driver you choose and what kind of power you put in the lmao. I didnt even ask for a number I asked for a formula. If your response to questions is do more research or read my thread uhhh your advice is not needed. peace

Still have not told us if you plan to use 120v 240v 277v and how you plan to break up the plugs,circuit,or drivers.theres still at least 10 answers i can give you but i will leave you with the first line and .......(:
