Refusing vehicle search?

Has anybody ever refused a vehicle search and avoided it?

Always wondered if its actually possible. I can see refusing and the cops search anyways. They can use simple tactics, like they smell marijuana which maybe probable cause regardless weather they did or not etc.

I can see it possibly being useful to refuse regardless to help your case in court maybe.

W/e I'm traveling with large(er) amounts of weed, I would def refuse anyways.

Any experiences?
Pulled over for going 5mph over (Wasn't speeding had cruise set 2mph below the speedlimit), Immediately asked for consent to search (I said no), was pulled out of the car and placed in trooper's SUV. 5 more cops showed up. Asked if I was free to go and the police said no they had to write me a warning. Asked to see the radar showing I was speeding and they refused. Even though I said no to consent they went up to my vehicle and tried to search it claiming they could smell weed on my persons and found out I had locked it prior to getting pulled out. Demanded my keys which I said no, not without a warrant. Was arrested for "interfering with official acts". Searched my car and found a good amount in my trunk. Charged me with double the amount and 2 other felonies including failure to affix a drug tax stamp and 2 misdemeanors all for marijuana minus the interference with official acts. Held on $5,000 bail which I made 3 days later and got out. Hired an attorney who had it plead down to a single misdemeanor and made out with $2000 in fines and a year of probation. Of course every situation is different but this is my personal account of not consenting to a search and being arrested.

I always felt real confident in my travels as i am an excellent driver. Im clean cut and i drive a modern well maintained vehicle and routinely change out all bulbs before a trek. Even after all this extra precaution the fuzz can and DOES & WILL profile individuals from out of state passing through especially if you happen to be on a major interstate. They love to exploit the slower speeds of construction zones so they can monitor tags with ease and also look for any means possible to stop you. They will fabricate a petty reason for a traffic stop if they cant find an obvious one only to ensnare you and initiate you into there pre planned system of procedures "THERE SHAKEDOWN GAME" all meant to arouse there suspicion about you and give them enough ammo to deploy there pooch to sniff out your vehicle.
amen to that brother
