Reducer/elbow

I just upgraded from CFLs to a 250 watt HPS (yay!). I got a cool tube because heat has always been an issue in my little 2.5w x 1.5d x 4h cabinet.

I have a 4 inch exhaust fan and the corresponding ducting but my cool tube is 6 inches. I found a reducer and an elbow but my cabinet was not wide enough to accommodate the cool tube (18 in) and an elbow or reducer. I was getting pretty frustrated but then I had an idea:
Problem: Doesn't fit

Solution:
Cut the 4 in ducting through about 7 metal rings

Calculate difference in circumference between 4 in and 6 in duct. Yay geometry! Add enough reflective duct tape (not cheap stuff, the actual foil duct tape) to give 6 in diameter. I added a little more to make it easier to get on the tube.I think the type of tape is important because this is going to be right next to the light, receiving quite a bit of heat. This tape reduces the likelihood all my shit will go up in flames.

Tape that shit closed! I taped the inside and the outside.

And then I taped around the edges because it was all jagged and could cut a bitch.

Attach to tube and marvel at your ingenuity.

I was feeling frisky so I semi-organized the rat's nest of wires on the backside of my cab:
