Re-Vegging a plant after harvest

I know this is discussed from time to time. I can't find a thread to really research it.

I have a killer plant that is one of stinkiest and stickiest I've ever had. She flowered outdoor early and is weeks away from harvest. I can't find a legit spot to clone from cause it's all nugs. she's only a foot tall.

I want to harvest while she's in the pot, leave the main stalk and a few others...once harvested and want to slowly help her recover from the shock and have her veg over the summer. Then I can clone and also get a nice plant to harvest in the late summer/early fall.

Any thoughts?

Success rate?

Technique?

Yeah I'm interested in this myself since I have plenty of space for my plant so long as it remains under 8 feet tall.
Actually starting to get a bit concerned even there though it grew a full 2 inches just through the night last night.

When I explained my dilemma to my chick (early veg low yield) she looked at me like WTF is your problem. In her head having never grown MJ, she feels it's just a plant, which it is...therefore if we just treat it like a plant all will be ok.

She said to harvest the fucker with care and add water...brilliant dear. Now watch, it will work and come September some time I will harvest a long vegged monster bud plant.

She's the green thumb at the house.
