RDWC Quick Question

Hi I've been growing in soil for 5 grows now and id like to give RDWC.
I've been reading and reading the forums and I've picked up some really useful info, i basically had no idea about any hydro system and the thought of hydro was daunting, but after a lot of research i think with a few grows with a RDWC i could produce some good yields.
Im gonna be getting the Alien Xl 4 pot for my dr150 1000w hps magnum reflector setup.
So basicly i get the basics of RDWC, but im a little confused about 1 thing, when i change the 100ltr res every 7-10 days, do i just change the 100lt res or do i change the 100lt res and empty the x4 27litre pots too?
I have tried to find the answer before making a post but all i read is people saying change the res so thought i better double check if i should empty the buckets to.
Any replies much appreciated, thanks :)

Also came from running soil and doing recirculating this round. When I do a res swap I run a bit of plain ph adjusted water through during the swap until my return is clear and close to the starting ppm of the water, then put in my new batch of water with nutrients.

I am very interested to see what others do.

I drain the system to the last drop.. then refill with new nutrient every 14 days

I do exactly what Hbbum does, I used to empty each bucket instead but now my root masses are soo big that I can't get all the roots out of the bucket to do so, so now I just run about 5 gals of RO water through it, then empty it again and add my water back in. Doing this also cleans out your lines, which can have the potential for nutrient salts to build up...I think dwc/rdwc is one of the best hydro methods, unless you're doing SOG...just my opinion though, I hope to hear good things come outta your setup xmspx!
