Yea that Moonshine Haze is fire im thinking of popping some packs and doing some pheno hunts soon. Why do you think they bailed on co? RD just hooked me up with some packs for free a few weeks ago you cant blame the man for trying to expand his business.

Dont blame him for expanding. It is how he stepped on a few locals after they helped them get where they are. But pretty much seems to be a regular in the seed industry. Greenhouse and several others, Swerve included. There is some serious shade and it is spreading.

Yea I feel you, there is a lot of shady business in anything dealing with the "Industry". I dont keep up with the gossip much anymore to much he says she says I just wanna grow that FIYAHHH like your Romulan and hopefully make a few strains of my own in the process. Until I open my own shop thats all i can do for now...... Oneday

Hells yeah! I just wanna dance! Oops, wrong website lol. I can not wait to see how the scene goes after the first of the year. I just want my flowers/strains in a store but I am waiting to see what happens before I jump on a few offers on my table right now. Kind of sketched about growing for a Rec store ya know!

I will have some tangerine kush and og ghost train haze 9. Tange are nice. Even got.a dude that smells of tangerin rind! Theres a few fems 3 total. Akso have and dropped the oggth9....just no a keeper in the bunch. Good vigor moderate gland producrion bland haze aroma. And will give a smoke report in tje coming days. So far nothing comes close to other hazes and sativas we already have. The bar has been set very high I feel. To what I compare to.

Will rare dankness ever start breeding seeds and maybe at least come up with a f3 or f4
or will they just remane another pollen slinging outfit with a new strain every week?

They pollen chuck just like most of the seed companies these days. What happened to IBL'ing landrace then crossing to create a proper hybrid, then stablizing it? Oh yeah, nobody wants to put in the work, they just want the recognition of someone elses years of hard work. Punks IMO. You are no breeder when you poly off of other polys. You just chuck pollen. Fuck who I offend, I come from three generations of TRUE breeders so you all can kiss my ass if you dont like what I say. My cousins Korean IBL was stabilzed over 20 years before it was even allowed to be passed around. That is true breeding. And FUck you Romulan Joe you fucking snitch, thanks for stealing my families cut when our collective in Cali got raided by the feds just so you could flee to Canada and claim our cut as yours. Swerve did the sam thing to several Old timers in Cali before bouncing out too. DNA also. Fuck the pollen chucking seed companies.

So Indi, how do you really feel?

They are selling The Ox and a bunch of nice looking strains. Hard not to like a business that deals in seeds that make great plants. There are growers doing the hard work, but I suspect that they will want to keep the results in their operation. Do you know of any seed companies who are doing it right?

Seed companies and breders are two different things IMO. Breeders doe quality strains selection from P1s and continue to stabilize that strain for years. Typical seed banks, I can not think of one that does not do this, takes polys and crosses them to more polys. and if they do use a good s1, they run it to a poly and then hit it to a f2 and sell it.

Example of true breeding. Panama S1 to Korean IBL. True landrace bred strains crossed, and then stabilized over several years. That to me is breeding and making strains. Not taking polys to polys and acting like you did all the hard work.

I cna take OG Kush and hit it to Tahoe OG and call it Cyprus Kush. But did I really do all the breeding honestly? No, Itook the work of two other breeders work. crossed it and said hey, look what I did. It pisses me off. Sure you get great strains, but nothing that stands out abouve the rest like true bred strains. When a strain is well stablized, it has particular characteristics that will imprint on your brain like no othe typical hybrid will. You will notice a distinct high that you do not find in polys nor replicate in them. That is why the old timers always go back to the pure strains of the old days when talking about the greatest weed. Everythingto me has the same high nowadays. The only time I find a difference is when I get a honest pure sativa or indica. That is just me and my own personal opinion. You all can stand up for the over abundance of "breeders" and seed banks but I will hold on to my third generation growing education and lifestyle!

Oh and World of Seeds and Sannies is who comes to mind when I think landrace and stablized strains for breeders/banks. If anyone knows of any others who are LEGIT, then feel free to list them.

There are soo many good books to read man! Shoot me a pm and I will forward to a few links to some great lists and upc codes to run on amazon to find the books for cheap! I got bookshelves bending under paperweight! Books in boxes, etc.. I am a nerd. I suggest staying away from mainstream bs and stick to solid, factual books writen in tthe context of botany and science in general. That is where you really find the gold info to get into a solid breeding project. Beware, it takes time but is worth it in the end. You could end up creating the next wave like so many others did.

thecoolman- Seems like you could find some serious keepers if their strains are legit. They are new so not sure if they work with the real deal, but give it a shot. I like that they are not coming out with 20 dif strains, only a few. Makes me think they spent some time on their work!

This is probably the dawn of a new era in seed breeding with the way the legal environment is evolving. I have been thinking about making a batch of seeds, just chuck pollen from a fav strain to another fav and see what happens. As long as the 2 plants were solid, maybe i could build up a good stock of seeds and put them into the growing cycle. Would be great to put away the cloner until a truly great strain/pheno comes along. I can make bubble hash from the seeded bud remnants, so not a sad ending to the plants. Been thinking about crossing a high CBD with NLxBB, but have not found a good high CBD yet, working on this currently.

Or, I could just buy some Rare Dankness Blue OX, or even just OX seeds and have the first steps already completed. After looking at their website it looks like they are doing a good job of selecting candidates. Yes, they are not the Einsteins of the cannabis world, but they help people to get their gardens going, so I'll not criticize 'em too much. At least not until i try their seeds, which after looking at their strains, may happen sooner than later.
