Raised Cedar Beds for Cannabis

Hey all!

So I've never grown outdoors before but I've been thinking of giving it a whirl this coming season. I'm just getting my thoughts together on this and started thinking about growing medium/containers. My question is, have any of you grown in raised cedar beds before? I have tons of scrap cedar fencing pickets which I use to build raised beds for my carrots and potatoes and such but I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a cedar bed for weed before. Thinking of giving it a try but wanted to see if anyone had any reasons why I should avoid it first. Thinking of making a bottomless bed that's 3'x3'x3' (about 200 gal.). Still researching mediums and fertilizers. Probably gonna do Barney's Farm Liberty Haze from seed in case anyone was wondering.

Good choice but Barneys has some incredibly mold & Powdery Mildew resistant strains. A couple of new ones I'm gonna try. I wish you greatness along with all of us.

I'm an organic grower and all of my raised beds are cedar. Fill them with good organic soil and your good to grow anything. Kinda spendy venture in the beginning, but worth it for me.Raised Bed 8-31-15.JPG Raised Bed 9-9-15.jpg
