rainforest 66 question

Hi Everyone
I'm very very new to this so please bear with me. I have a GH rainforest 66 . I put my first plants in last night but I cant tell if the vortex sprayer is working. I hear it, and I can feel a rotational movement akin to a washing machine, but I cant see, feel, or hear any spray or mist being produced. A friend suggested to me that the device runs in cycles as opposed to running 24/7, but I cant find anything in the users manual about intervals or cycles. I appreciate anyone taking time to help me.

Thanks

Price: $280.00 ..?

man you can make one for $20.00 ..?

its gotta run constantly imo

unless theirs a timer

check everything to ensure it ain't blocked

good luck
thanks man....I blew through it, no clog. Yeah I could've made one but I have too many other projects going. I will make my money back not having to buy meds. I agree that it should be running and I should feel or see the mist. I have a call in to the company directly and also sent an email. Thanks again

is the pickup tube similar to a single rainforest? blows air in from the top to force water out of the drip ring? or something different?

if so, check the internals of the pick up tube. mine was not connected and would not do anything.

there isn't a drip ring so I think this one is different. its supposed to shoot a fine mist over the roots.

yeah, not sure how that model works. i would take it apart (i assume you can) and see if you see anything obvious wrong.

maybe somebody with one will chime in eventually?

from a Amazon review:

I got this all set up and the vortex sprayer wouldn't spray. I had to call the company twice but they did resolve the issue. The power cord that came with the unit was not strong enough to power the pump. I was told that this happens all the time, and they immediately sent me a new power cord which solved the problem.

not sure how a power cord could not be strong enough?? give GH a ring and see what they tell you.

When I bought a Rainforest at the beginning of the year. There was an issue straight out of the gate... According to the rep that serves the US West coast and Hawaii, they switched vendors for the power cord and it didnt work. My local hydro joint. (BG Hydro in Pasadena who is super great) got me Devons (the Rep.) Cell phone number.

So i have a busted system, i have a room set up, and seedlings looking for a home and needed a place for them to go. I decided to make the Rainforest a DWC, and did pretty well. I have since added another Rainforest so i have 12 sites, i usually dont go anymore than 6 plants. It does get crowded. With the res. It's 50 gallons. I use 2 Eco3 airpumps, and a 633gpm pump for the return. I bought a chiller, but it came thrashed also. I use a simple fan blowing on the water and can bring the temp down by 10 degrees. A trick used by people with aquariums. I added an LEC to my Black Dogs, so this grow may slow roast better than grow...

GH totally sucks when it comes to customer service. My hydro store saved my ass. I'm thinking you have what I had.

If your system is functional, do NOT run it in cycles, just run it. Double check your water level.

If you have questions feel free to ask.
