Hey guys i made some super soil last season and had left overs. My question is will it be as potent as a fresh batch, should i even use it? keep in mind its been sitting in my closet for a year, felt the soil seems kinda dry haven't added any water since last year. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

as good as the fresh stuff ...no! but you can top it up, replace or freshen the stuff you got in there, so you may use it again, I top mine up annually with goat shit and blood and bone and that fantastic kelp

As good as the fresh stuff? No, probably even BETTER.

As long as it didn't get powder dry, it's still good stuff. Even if it got dry, you can moisten it with a compost tea and it will be good as new.

The only way a soil can really "go bad" is if it goes anaerobic. You'll know if this happens because it will generate some very funky smells...

Thanks for the responses, It defiantly doesn't have any funky smells going on just nice and earthy! Now for the tea should i just do a reg veg style tea? or is there anything specific i need to add to bring it back to life?

Shvantz, you want to moisten your soil down with a compost tea. The best quality compost/EWC you can get your hands on and molasses. This will bring your soil back to life by adding billions of microbes that will start chowing down on the goodies that are still in the soil from last season. Add a couple cups of compost/EWC and a few tablespoons of molasses to 3-4 gallons of water and bubble for 36-48 hours. Done deal

Okay awesome thanks for the help! Just one last question after i add the tea to spring her back to life do i let it sit for the 40-60days or she ready to go instantly?

I don't think that's necessary. I might give it a week or two to jump start the nutrient cycling but you certainly don't need to wait any extended period of time unless you're adding a bunch of fresh amendments like blood meal to the soil.
