OK today its day 55 I plan to harvest today.

i wanted to harvest at the end of the 12 hour cycle. but i got home 1 hour late.

The lights came on for 1 hour. I shut them off.

Is that enuff time for the plant to suck up any sugar from the roots? can i still harvest today or should i wait till tomorrow.

also i dont have a microscope ...cant find any anywhere. So my cam has micro mode which i can see a lil.

Do they look ready...the leaves are dying already.

what do u guys think?

the 1st pic is from a few days ago...the trichomes still appear white but the leaves are dying fast.

The 2nd and 3rd pics are today.

The 4th pic is from another strain growing in same room... do they both look ready and is the 1 hour of light gonna pull up unwanted sugars for harvest?

any help is greatly appreciated.

judging by the look of the bud. i am sure you put alot of time love and work into the bud.. show it respect and get a handheld micro scope 100x and check the trichomes, only way to be sure you harvest at the right time... id think it has more time simply because the plant is just begining to pull nitrogen from the leaves... nitrogen will give them a final swell and make it better.... get the scope and check the trichs... its worth it

yeah, those buds look great, but i agree with the above poster.. radio shack sells them for like fifteen bucks or so, or you can get a jewlers loupe for like ten bucks all over.. and you wanna make sure that you get one that is atleast 30x zoom.. this really is the best way to tell when she is ready.. i always liked the rule of thumb.. when you think she is ready, wait another week... don't rush harvest, you will be soo happy when you go to smoke it when you didn't rush it and it is at peak ripeness...
nice job on the grow... very nice looking nugs.

Even without checking the trichomes real good right now, my opinion is a few more weeks. I say that solely by the fact that those buds still have quite a few white hairs and not enough orange/brown hairs. I agree the trich-check is the most accurate and reliable method, but just by appearance alone, you've got time.

another week wont hurt, if anything it will get even bigger.. remember your bud will shrink once it dries, the size of the bud on the tree is going to shink down to lik 1/4 the size

actually u might even have more then a week left on that other plant... the leaves are green as can be and most the hairs are white... i if you wait a week and half for both youll be a happy camper.... have you started leeching/ flushing

ya i been on straight water for 12 days now...these plants are so heavy they cant stand up right they just fall over. some leaves are green but i have pulled about half of the leaves off cuz they turned yellow and almost fell off.

anyways i harvested last night. kinda had no choice due to circumstances. trichs were slightly amber on a few plants. may be a few days early but i think it will be fine

early is good tho.. depending on the type of bud.. usually more a body stone the sooner you harvest, or it least its been that way in my experiences....whats your plan for drying and curing? i got plants to chop in a month and a half... i am so stoked

You have at least a week left. Your calyxs haven't even swelled up completely yet. If you look at some of your pre-flowers and see how fat they are, thats how swollen your calyxs should be. Besides that, you gotta get a 30x. 100x is to intense in my experience, although it may work for some. I just find it easier to take a good look with 30x. With 60-100x, you only can see a small cluster. Once you get that and learn about clear, milky, and amber trichomes, you can harvest depending on your taste. If you prefer a couch lock stone, harvest when you have a higher percentage of amber crystals. If you want a clear head high, harvest with more clear crystals. If you want the perfect mix of both, harvest when the crystal heads are milky. The reason you get the couchlock stone is because THC starts to break down and create the cannabinoid CBD which is the chemical/molecule that causes that groggy feeling. And when you harvest, harvest in the morning, not at the end of your 12/12 cycle. When you feel like your plants are ready, turn the lights off for 48 hours and then on for 1 hour. Marijuana is most potent when harvested in the morning. Thats why you turn the lights on for an hour. And when your drying, keep your buds in the dark because light degrades THC. Hope that helped!
