I use leds right now but I am still very new... Iv been on the forums for a while and have seen some very nice 150 grows. have not seen too many good 135 grows. someone on here has probably tried both and has a better opinion.

A 150hps puts out little heat however in small spaces heat will build up requiring air exchange. What size is your grow space?

as far as leds go i would go figure out what the actual drawn wattage is and go from there. I use three led units a blackstar 240w actual pull is 130w I believe. I have a cheap Chinese 180w actual draw is prob 90w and a sunshine glow panel45. All of them are covering a 2x4x7 area. I do get some heat build up from them and vent accordingly.

having used hps and led id wager both of those lights are similar in terms of growing horsepower. the hps will heat things up big time in a small grow area w/o vents

Yo I am currently doing a closet micro grow with two 135 watt Blackstar LEDs. If you check out the grow in my signature you can see everything in terms of brand and setup and what not. Ive dont alot of research and reading and interviewing experienced people about LED lights. When it comes to limited space with micro or small grows you cant beat LEDs. Now for alrge scale grow operations HID more specifically HPS does put out more light and penetration. Many large scale growers also use LED though especially when flowering. Personally I have grown with both and i am loving the LEDs right now. There quiet and cool looking and put out minimal heat and my plants are the greenest I have ever seen. Check em out.

Go with the LED's because they are much more simple. I have not used HPS, but I have used CFL and LED. LED's are more expensive, but well worth the money because they last a long, long time and are easy to manage temperature wise. You need to be focusing on how to balance ph, nutes, and all the other stuff we have to learn to grow successfully. When you get all that right, then give HPS a shot because you will need to focus on safety when having that kind of heat and electricity.
