Question about setting up my medical history for a card

So I am trying to get my Oregon Medical card, I went to a Doc in the box today to set up a history(I have not been to the doctor in 10 years) About 10 years ago I hurt my back pretty bad while I was still involved with martial arts, I never went to the doc and just let it go. Ever since then I have had nothing but back problems, one wrong move and it feels like I get sucker punched in the back and I loose all my air and I stay this way for weeks at a time. Anyway, long story short. Went to the doc because the pain has been bad the last few months. He gave me a prescription for Physical Therapy. How will this affect me? Where should I go from there?
I don't mind doing the PT, but I also want to get my card. Please keep the negative "Drug Seeking" comments to yourself, I am not looking for pills, I am wanting to set up a different option than pills. This is a site about weed and growing and I am just seeking advise from someone who may be able to help

I agree with the PT, I should have done it when I got hurt but I didn't have insurance then, and I had the attitude of just walk it off and ignore it. I have already set up my appointment

You're going to have to play their game and build up a medical history of back pain. I don't know how strict Oregon is about issuing cards but I'd imagine you'll need a lot more than a single visit and a few PT sessions for a card but maybe not. Where I'm at you need medical history within last 12 months that documents a qualifying condition.

Well none of this is faked for one. With Oregon from what I understand, Your records can't be older than 3 years, Cannabis is looked at as an alternative form of medication, so you need to have a history of taking meds if you are using the pain route.
Since my injury is a "Sports Injury" they are recommending PT

Yea, I told them the truth. The doc even does the same style martial arts I used to so he knows what we do to ourselves. I am just wondering if I am going to have to stretch this out more or if him telling me do PT was the end of the road.

So do u know for sure that Cannabis helps you? If it does u need to let ur doc know that it does. And ask him his advice towards getting ur card along those lines.

Yes and no. The pain is still there, but the sharpness of the pain goes away. Being it was my first visit in years I didn't talk about cannabis, I just gave them the facts as to how I did it, when I did it and the pain.
