question about SCROG growing

i am growing in a very small space (2 ft x 2 ft
x 4 ft) and my 4 plants are already about a foot long in 1 month of vegging...so i have less than 3 ft of vertical space left..

not much so i am using a scrog screen. i am little worried about how big these ladies are gonna get when i switch to 12/12... do you think i can manage with a scrog screen? i want to veg for at least another month before i flower, is this crazy and should i flower earlier considering how little space i have ? or will the screen be enough to contain the explosion in growth?

this is my first grow so i need opinions please

follow the link in my sig to my journal. I grow in an extremely small space. It might take a few times to get it dialed in for you but scrog works great.

How big are your plants now??
the tallest one is 11.5 inches, the other three fall somewhere between 9-10. they are just barely getting their alternating nodes, thats why i want to veg for another month.

the screen is 2 ft x 2 ft

You can easily grow under a scrog. Just be sure to shape the bed as it grows, and plan out where you want stuff to grow. Once all the branches start to hit the scrog, the goal is to bend the tops underneath, allowing the lower node branches to catch up and top out above the scrog.

My 1'x2' scrog with 2 indica plants.

thanks, that link looks useful :)

can i ask what the purpose is of keeping the bottom of the stems "naked"...is this to keep it from growing horizontally... because my plants really bushy everywhere and i'm wondering when/if i should cut the branches at the bottom that dont reach the screen.

A month can give you lots of growth so you just gotta watch them close, removing the bottom branches and foliage a week or two before you flower is a good idea, lower bud sites won't get any light penetration resulting in wasted energy that could be focused on the top colas.

Two weeks into flower i trim off all branches that don't make it to the screen and all the foliage and whatever under it too. Without any light none of that stuff would amount to anything useful and would detract the plants energy from the tops in the light. :blsmoke:
