Question about PC Case Grow and Smell

I intend on growing for the first time using a PC case, but before I start there are a couple things I want to ask those who have grown seeds using their PCs. Firstly, how bad is the smell? I live with my parents and I intend on using a DIY carbon filter to mask the smell but I want there to be absolute no smell. Is it possible to completely mask the smell? I intend on cracking my windows open when work needs to be done so the house doesnt stink up.

Hi there,

if I were, you, I'll ask the permission to my parents before starting anything.
Not that the smell is going to be the main concern, as it could be handled quite easily in such a small setup, but as you're still living in their house you grow op could cause troubles to yourself, and more important, to them.

Just try to talk them about you plan, and if they don't go your way wait till you're on your own and use this upcoming time to learn : websites like this one will teach you so much... ;)

Don't disrespect your parents. It's their house, and if something were to happen it falls on them. Wait until you have your own place.

Above 18, planning on moving out within a year or so.

I intend on growing 1 plant in my PC case and have been lurking for a week or so reading upon the type of soil to use, lights to install within the setup, etc etc. I've also been keeping tabs on various other micro grows on this site as well as a few forums (ie. rollitup). I feel like i am ready, but am worried about the smell.

This grow will be for the sole intent of satisfying my needs only, as I only have access to shady dealers who do not give a good count, have shitty quality and are never reliable.

Parents are probably against it, but they wont know. I prefer to keep it that way and keep them in the dark about this. The only thing I am worried about is the smell 1 plant would create.

The grow will be in my closet and my room is reasonable size with a few windows, which i mentioned earlier would be used for ventilation when I start watering the plants during the smelly flowering stage (The stage I am most worried about)

Lol, alright dude. A lot of people have been telling me that recently. Although i dont understand why people would do a PC grow op if they have their own place. I mean why not invest in a bigger unit to disguise your grows. Anyways thanks for your help bud, Ill have to go to plan B, growing in the forests nearby.

What kind of fan will you use of you are going DIY carbon filter? As far as I know PC fans are quiet and ideal for PC grows but will have a rough time trying to suck air out of the case and push it through the filter.
If your just growing one little plant in the PC case I'd recommend you use a PC fan for exhaust with no filter and look into an ONA block/gel instead.
Your call but I think that would be your best option unless you are going to use a bigger more powerful fan to push the air through the filter.
But then the fan will take up more precious room in your PC case and also the increase in sound from the bigger fan will be allot more noticeable
A good PC fan will sound like your Xbox was left on.

Grow a tomato plant in your room so you have a reason for watering and fert and even smell. Or start a veggie garden in your yard and just add an MJ plant among the others. Parents will not even know what it is. Just make sure you top it and lst to keep it small and low.
