Question about nutrients close to harvest

Okay, im more of an outdoor soil grower... and i know your supposed to stop giving the plant nutes 2 weeks before harvest so the weed burns and tastes better.... Is this the same for hydro growing???? If so, how in the blue hell am i gonna pull that off with two plants in the AeroGarden that are going to harvest at different times???

Any advice would be great... I feel like im screwed.. so if thats the case, break it to me lightly... lol.. heres a few pics...

Well, I hear some people 'flush' their plants through out the entire growth cycle, periodically. Thus, it shouldn't be a problem if you kept it fairly short. As well, I've heard some flushing agents include carbohydrates to help sustain the plants as they are flushed so perhaps you could add some to help keep the other plant vigorous?

Well I read a lot. Have read on here of one fella who continues to use nutes throughout the entire grow (Pure Blend Pro Bloom) and does not flush at all. Supposed to have the most delicious herb in town. Heard of another fella who produces a nice crop using no nutes at all..strictly tap water. Guess you pays your money and takes your chances. Sure you will make the right decision. Best of fortunes to you on your grow.

I use pro grow fert so I flush every three weeks being the salts and acids build up. Flowering last 2 weeks only clean water after a good flush then last week no water, also I like to sit her in the dark for 12-24 hrs and then cut her down ( No Light )
so all the liquids are in the roots.

Okay... when you all say "flush", i take it you mean to replace the water... well i do that every week before feeding anyway... my problem is, i have two plants in one rez, that are going to harvest at different times...

I can understand giving it nutes throught the whole cycle, dont really know how that effects hydro plants, but i know soil plants dont burn well if nutes are applied within last two weeks of flowering...

You said someone used no nutes when growing? Impossible....

Your best bet is to transport it to DWC or it own pot. You pretty much screwed cause of the plant cycle. If both plants are flowering - I wouldn't worry to much, but it still in veg and one is flowering - then you do have a problem.

I do a regular flush to get rid of salts build up..(once a month. outside), I'm not just doing it for taste but I've been bitten by burn once and don't plan on a 2nd round. The results of flushing is more of a personal preference than a set in stone law..some say thats the green harsh taste...some like it...some like earthy tasting herb...etc.....If your 2 plants are at different cycles, it might be the best of both worlds to just reduce the nuteing to about 25%..that way you can have a toe in both ponds....just a thought... LUCK :)

Thats what i was thinking.... toe in both ponds method...

My plants arent that far apart at all... i say bout two weeks... both have been flowering for about 6 or 7 weeks.. but i had kept more blue light over one the plants, and instead of budding, it exploded with hairs! So i aint complaining, but now im kind of in a pickle....

What are you SUPPOSED to do when it comes down to harvest time when growing with Hydro???

here some pics... the one on left is the one budding and filling in nicely... the other pic is the slower one, but asd you can see, it is by far more "busy" and its goona produce a massive cola
