Question about COB light area coverage.

Would 16 CXM22 COBs ran at 55w each be enough to flower a 6'x6' tent? I usually only veg for 4 weeks from baby clones before flowering and train as well so my plants aren't too tall. I am planning on flowering 25 plants of this size. I'm hoping their short bushy size would allow for decent canopy penetration with COBs. I'm so over HIDs and the cost of cooling the grow space with them. (I am aware 880w of COB will need to be cooled as well... just not as hard as two 600w HID lights I hope.)

I would do less Cobs run at 1.4 amps which is about 75 watts each. Also you could probably save money my going with Samsung strips it would eliminate the need for all those heat sinks and heaver aluminum for support.

35--50W/SF will work for flowering stage. Why you don't use several large lights to save cost? I think you can consider 6pcs of Mars Reflector 720 to cover 6x6. It can cover your plants very well and very efficient for your tent 6x6.

After looking into the light strips I'm considering doing a build with 40 of the 2 ft strips to cover the 6x6. That should be close to 1,200 watts of led. Would that be overkill, or could I fit even more strips in that space?

Sounds good make sure you can dim them down if needed.

Those type of led grow lights are very low quality, they put out a low amount of light per watt.
Reflector 720W use epistar chips, 5W max power, draw power of each chip is 2.2--2.3W, the quality is much better than most of Chinese brands

I'm not sure what the efficiency would be with that wattage, but that's what you would need to know to get an idea of the par watts per foot and PPFD. I think you would effectively replace the 1200w of HID with your proposal but you could always build it to be more powerful than the previous while maybe still saving some wattage. I think 20 par watts per square foot is pretty intense without being potentially too hot, provides a DLI in the low 40s, but anything in the 15-25 par/w per foot range is used.

Just guessing but 16 CXM22s at 55w will provide about 13 par watts per foot in a 6x6, PPFD will be around 700 or a little less. I think it would produce some really nice results if you're happy with your current results, but you could easily add 4 more at 55w each and get PPFD up to around 850.
