I know of two people who managed to total their cars in bumper to bumper parking lot type traffic in LA.

But, but, why did they make women soooo horny? Nothing I have ever encountered before during or since did that.

'Ludes where one of those special drugs where nothing else seemed to replicate the effects. I had one opportunity to try them but I wasn't doing anything at that point in my life and passed. I keep consoling myself that they were probably fake. I'm sure I'll run across them at somepoint. The synth is pretty straight forward if nothing else. Wasn't ethqualone an RC at onepoint?

It is interesting that so few people know about this magical substance that has gobs of drug lore surrounding it. Does this mean that the DEA managed to halt a well loved substance? Many of those who were immersed in methaqualone for any length of time would take it over every other drug they ever had, bar none and yet now there is a black hole surrounding it. What have people heard about this stuff?

Ime it was scheduled and discontinued for a reason. It reminded me of a blend of alcohol and benzos. After a stout dose, my lips and fingers were numb and sloppy all the next day. The addiction potential was fierce, and along with glutethimide (Doriden) and the barbiturates, the addiction was profound and dangerous. I cannot recommend romanticizing this bludgeon of a drug. Jmo. cn

Yes, the down side is pretty nasty but there was a place even for such large blunt instruments - but.. oh well.... all gone!

Luuds are smoked here in africa, just crushed, and mixed into the top of a bowl of weed.
Very addictive though, I wa hooked for a few years.

I've been reasing Erowid on them and they sound amazing and super addicting. I wonder how I'd never heard of these before?

My Dad told me about these a long time ago. From my understanding it's like xanax and ambien combined lol

He said he took them a lot with his buddies back in the 70's haha

I had heard they still are being manufactured in Africa and that they were predominantly smoked. As was said, the withdrawal is very nasty.

On night I was driving over the local interstate, looked down and saw several blue lights flashing and a car astride a large interstate sized lightpole. Thought, uhoh somebody's in trouble.
The next day I was leaving a retail establishment at that interchange and ran into two old friends staring at one of their cars. A large Pontiac (model forgotten), with a large, light pole sized, indentation on the rear quarter panel.
I ask one of them if he was the one I had seen on the highway the night before and he responded yes. The other one piped in " I put my Fiat in the creek that runs behind local watering hole last night." He hesitated a moment, then added " there's quaaludes in town."

Episodes like that and a lot of nakedness seem to sum up a lot of the 714 experience.
