I'm trying to find a site to order the best seeds for purple weed. I don't want anything that just makes purple leaves but purple bud material. I don't know much about growing purple so any information would be nice.

use the marijuana seeds tab at the top of this page or any page, theres plenty of high quality and promising places that sell good seeds. or just get cheap weed and do what mjnme said....

i dont think thats true at all.

yes lowering temps does cause SOME purple strains to go purp, but those that do go purp are strains that are predisposed to do so. If you want purple nugs, get purple strains.

First off whats up to the RIU family. lestacy i'm curious as well to find some good purp seeds but my opinion lowering temps too low to just to make your LEAVES turn purple isn't a good idea going from 78+ do more down to the low 50's is way too drastic in the temp change & will cause your babys to hermie on you & you less'n your yield due to plant shock. some people do it thogh but the plant still have to have some purp genetics anyway.

people who would want to do this method would usually grow their full harvest and like the day before like chopping it just stick it outside to freeze n go purple..

with clones already been taken.. so who the f cares if it goes hermie or does whatever its going to die in a few days..

I won't argue with you because who am i and you may have been grow'n since i was still in my dads sacks but its not the mis information but the lack of information. not every one can put their plants outside & my opinion people is people want that purp color cause it brings that green(money) cause it surely don't increase no potency and so yes you'd have to drop to the 50's the last day(s) of harvest cause it would kick you in the ass to have seeds and half the yield you coulda got all because you were told to drop temp and not told when to drop temp or consequence of temp drop just to get some purple "leaves".

alright if you need me to explain, because obviously you do, here.

Lowering the temperatures of ANY plant will cause it to change color, in this case, cause it to change PURPLE.
This is because low TEMPERATURES DESTROY chlorophyll (what gives the plant, leaves, and FLOWERS it's characteristic GREEN)
Chlorophyll is produced during the growing season, and the warmth has a big deal to do with chlorophyll...

now here's something I KNOW you didn't know...
Anthocyanin...

Anthocyanin is a purple/reddish pigment found in EVERY PLANT... This is not only affected by chemicals, but also by the weather...

Cold temperatures destroy chlorophyll, and turn the leaves yellow due to the carotene, but if the temperatures don't go below freezing, the production of anthocyanin is actually better and produces a purple/red plant/leaf/and also in some plants FLOWERS...
then dryness... as in the humidity of the area around the plant,

if it's dry the plants sugars become more concentrated in the leaves, and create a redder tint...

these are REGULAR THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO EVERY PLANT....

so i think this ends our arguement, and i think we both know who told who right : )

enjoy.

Oracle of Hallucinogens
So what happens when you lower the temperature on an albino species mjnme? As obviously they are severely lacking the wonderful green chlorophyll.

Also, you're saying that no strain will naturally grow purple buds?

FDD, good comparison.
bazoomer...disgusting avatar!

Your right, the color won't get you high, but when you find those idiots at your local college that pay 45 a gram of something that's purple...not that my friend would be capitalizing on a terrific business opportunity.
