Try 24 hrs or less..
Ive never purged longer than a few hrs....

What temps and how much vac? How thick was the patty?

Doing as you said will largely evaporate the lighter flavorful compounds decreasing the ratio of "terps" to cannabinoids

Try 110-115° @ 29.5 in thin film, the temps have a lot to do with the end product, shatter wax etc.

Probly all the goods boiling off. Lighter esters and terps boil about half the cannabinoids do
When you blasted outdoors i assume you saw how quickly and posssibly violently it evaporated. It boils under the freezing temp of water....at ambient pressure
Heat you oil more as i said, this will help the molecules move around. And purge at 29.5. Dont worry about bubbles. You can tell by appearance and the stage anyway, once you start to wax or get crumble your way past purging

When it comes to purging i think theres a LOT of misinformation out there. Im nbot claiming to be more knowledgeable than anyone but ive tried a lot of things purged for 5 and up to 10 days and i think people miss the point.
When purging oil i find one has to find that temperature where the oil stays viscous enough so that trapped butane can make it out of there. If its hard or wax consistency you can keep it in there a whole fucking month its not gonna make it out, its literally trapped and only a raise in temperature will make it increase viscosity and allow gas to escape. Ive tried purging shatter for 5 days at 32/33 C and on that particular strain it wasnt high enough temperature for gas to escape. I dabbed it and my nose tickled. Raised temperature a few more degrees and back at vacuum for another 48h, night and day difference.
Now imo! you wanna keep it in vacuum as little as possible. When i find that sweet viscoity point of the strain i purge it until it stops gassing out, usually anywhere up to 36 and 48 hours, and then leave it at least another 24 to 48 hours. Unless im making straight sap and ill just leave it 72h no much longer.
Unfortunately here in spain i do not have access to residual solvent tests but this is the way i taught myself to purge it over a lot of practice trial and error and i was very please to see both my extraction and purging methodologies did not vary greatly at all from those people i spoke to from colorado an oregon who have legal facilities and have to meet the 800ppm limit. So i doubt my product would vary greatly in terms of residual test results.
My rule of thumb is about 3 and half days to 4 days ought to do the trick. Id consider an extra day f i did a biig run.

How long should I purge at these temp and presure to achieve shatter. At the moment I am able to produce very stable amber taffy but can't make shatter. At the moment I'm purging at 30hg @107-110f for an hour and a half. Suggestion please.

Just read through some of the threads.
Twitch guzias the forgotten vacpurge just to name a few. Tex makes fine stuff too. all have some great threads and info strung through. Often learning along the way and even a few side by sides

While we love to help and thats what the site is for.
People often forget that the reason threads were made was to document. Not just techniques but what did what and making small changes to improve, everyone here including myself has grown alot, and its been a blessing and rather humbling to watch.the threads They were made so people could go back and look through and learn, perhaps years after theyve stopped posting.
I could only dream of leaving such an impact

But vac pressures times and heat all alter the product and are part of each persons unique routine.

At full vac thc boils at room temp, somewhere floating is a chart of pressures and bp.

Fadedawg another member i should have mentioned almost always says he runs 29.5 at 115° for 30min except when going for different consistencies or for other uses

I have never heard of only purging for a couple hours. My oil would still be full of residual solvent. 90 degrees, full vac, 5 days. Flavor is amazing.
