Proposition to the US Gov

we have made waves on the state level, and i am particularly pleased to hear of the bill being proposed in masschusettes for legalization. This is all good but we are not focusing our efferts on the real source, which is the Federal Government. They alone have the power to end the Drug War.

Friends, Countrymen hear me now! For the message I wish to convey to thee is of the utmost prudence! After much thought and due deliberation I have come up with this noble proposal.

1: Marijuana is to be rescheduled to be a level 2 controlled substance, making it legally available to medical marijuana recipients. There shall also be NO limit to the amount of Marijuana available to Medical Marijuana Patients for medicinal use.

2: Cultivation of 30 mature and 60 immature Marijuana plants is to be made Legal under Federal Law. Thus allowing people who otherwise cant afford Marijuana to be self-sufficient within their own means. This should apply to the general public. (Medical Marijuana Patients would be excempt from such limitations)

3: Possession, Transportation and distribution of up to 1 pound of Marijuana is to be Decriminalized under federal law. (this would apply to the the non-medical user as Medical Marijuna Patients should not be subject to such limitations.)

We shall resist and continue to fight if necessary until no less than these demands are met by the government of the United States of America.

Signed,
JWS

well.. i don't really think it is the time to petition the feds for anything.. after alcohol prohibition it took almost every single state to repeal on its own before the feds put pen to paper with any kind of change.,,. radical russ from NORML always says that change won't come from the top down.. also - schedule 2 is not enough - it needs to be completely removed from that list just like tobacco and alcohol - even sched 4 drugs come with harsh limitations by the nature of the CSA.. 30 plants sounds too small to me - how much beer can you brew at your home before the feds need to break down your door? a lot i think.. as far as distribution - i think we need to leave it up to the individual states for now - in the end the federal law will reflect the state to state laws..

let states change one by one until all of north america is green - it already is starting to look that way on Google Earth - lets finish the job..! ;)

Admirable idea, but wrongheaded. Ultimately a waste of resources and activist energy better spent elsewhere.

The simple fact is the Federal government has no business whatsoever weighing in on the subject of illicit drugs.

No business at all.

The proper thing to do is exactly what we are doing. Reminding then that it is an issue for the states to deal with. When enough states assert their rights under the Constitutional in this matter, the Federal government will have no choice but to acquiesce.
