It's OK to strangle a guy who sells cigarettes. Respect your betters:

According to Mayor [Bill] de Blasio and Police Commissioner [Bill] Bratton, the NYPD will continue to strictly enforce laws against loosie [loose cigarettes] peddlers and subway dancers. "I can understand why any New Yorker may say, that's not such a big deal," de Blasio said. "But a violation of the law is a violation of the law."

Commissioner Bratton added, "It's important that when an officer does approach you to correct your behavior, that you respect them. That's what democracy's all about."

I truly wish more people had the balls to start dealing with this problem in this country.

Over zealous police, politicians who use them as a means to derive revenue from the public.

This has resulted in police departments that are out of control and losing the admiration of the public. When I was a kid my mom told me you can trust the police, they're here to serve. Today she would say they are devolving into an oppressive and corrupt organization that is no longer concerned with the welfare of the people.

A local "detective captain" was just caught dealing drugs from his car. Public faith is vanishing fast from these goons with guns and badges.

If I were on a jury, I could never vote guilty for a cop killer. They're maryters.

Would love to have a philosophical discussion instead of just policy wanking. It's really the philosophy that differs and a discussion into how we form our philosophy and why would be educational. Without Canndo though, I don't see any of progressives here able to articulate a good discussion about their philosophy. If I want to get in a name calling contest, this is the forum, enlightening discussion not so much.

After thinking more about it I have a better reply.

Killing a cop is a political expression of our disgust with the evolution of the police stare we are developing. Not unlike burning a flag.

You mean like Rand Paul who is trying to make the PoPo be policeman instead of armed robbers?

http://reason.com/blog/2014/07/30/jacob-sullum-on-rand-pauls-plan-to-limit

In 2003 a Nebraska state trooper stopped Emiliano Gonzolez for speeding on Interstate 80 and found $124,700 inside a cooler on the back seat of the rented Ford Taurus he was driving. Gonzolez said the money was intended to buy a refrigerated truck for a produce business, but the cops figured all that cash must have something to do with illegal drugs.

Although there was not much evidence to support that theory, under federal forfeiture law the government managed to keep Gonzolez's money based on little more than a hunch. Jacob Sullum says a bill introduced last week by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) would make that sort of highway robbery harder to pull off.

this thread should have been named "racists and white supremacists unite" in order to delineate and explain the resulting group of shitheads it attracted.
