Problem with seedlings

Hi guys.

This is the second time it's happening and I cant figure out why. My seedlings have been out of the ground for almost two weeks but they are super small and showing some weird signs. Im using canna coco plus soil, no ferts, just pure phd water. Temperature is controled, they are under a MH lamp so plenty of light (they are at the right distance too) humidity is around 45/60%. I think its not even worth keeping them, will probably have to start all over again but would like to know what am I doing wrong.

I take it your giving it a low dose of veg nutes, right, with just enough of a microbe product so you know you have microbes working for you right. If not then you do realize your basically flushing your little seedling every time you water it.

Sorry im being lazy and just copied my answer from another guy doing the same thing except he didnt mention he wasnt feeding it anything yet like you did.

When you say plenty of light is that code for too much light.

Not too much, enough :D the weird thing is I already done one grow with the exact same settings and seeds and it went well...but the last two times I've tried they just dont want to grow

You already used up your beginners luck. Time to watch hundreds of hours of youtube videos on how to grow a plant. Start with learning about coco doesnt coco hold the cal and its loaded with phosphorus or something like that idk i dont use coco. Its something though. Feed your plants veg nutes about 200 ppms with a tiny amount of microbes raise the light up a foot to slow things down and give it a week to see what happens. Now isn't the time to start over, now is the time to learn how to grow the ones you have.

I have even watched videos about growing corn and used a bit of info and applied it to my grow from it. On youtube a guy called grateful grower had some good videos I had watched. I even took a screenshot of his board on the wall to figure out what he was feeding it then looked up all those products. Go watch all the harley smith videos a dozen times each, learned something every time. Think balanced nutrition, and plants are like people.

Too much light, too much water and a low relative humidity. These three things kill more seedlings. Florescent lights, humidity dome, no fertilizer is needed or very very weak. Once in cups do not water on a schedule, water when they need it. I have done the exact same thing with MH.

I'm not familiar with Canna Coco Plus but most coco has nothing in it. The coco needs to be precharged with a light nutrient solution. Even seedlings need to eat. Not a problem starting in soil but in coco you'll have to add just a little something for them.

When you say Canna Coco Plus soil do you mean you mixed coco with soil?

If it's just straight coco you need some nutrients in it. Also those look way too wet.

Use a 10W LED bulb or 20W spiral CFL about 2 inches away for new seedlings and newly rooted clones.

It is a myth that seedlings shouldn't be placed under an HID. I do it all the time. In fact, they do much BETTER under bright lights. I don't have humidity control, so I'm stuck with 25% humidity. Even with this low humidity, my seedlings do well with proper watering. I will put a dome over seedlings for the first week or so, but after that - full bore 1kw DE MH at 3 feet.

Your seedlings do look light-bleached to me (maybe it's the photo?). How close is your light?

Depending where they are at compared to your lights it might be overkill. I don’t believe it will be detremental to the grow ... unless they die? But just a little wasteful of electricity. Unless they are just chilling between vegging plants not actually directly under the light (like i do my clones). I put fresh clones farrrrrr away from a little 4 bulb t 5’s and they thriiiveeeeeee.

I am a newb tho. Never had MH for veg yet...
