Pressurized Closed column extraction

@g84mad Haha yea it sucks. I feel stupid. I've read and watches everything I can and still get fucked I feel. It's at a point where I'm going to try my hand in making full melt dry sift.

If you figure anything out or need to message me, feel free. I've made a ton if bone head mistakes that you could maybe learn from....lol...except blasting indoors and shit. I'm not that dumb. :)

@Fadedawg I've tried not letting it sit at all and when I do I've only waited about 5 mins and never got any green or dark looking shit, just never any of that really golden looking wax. Only gold when I look at it under light and I've tried spreading it as thin as possible. Sigh.
Unless really cold 5min to long imo

@Crippykeeper I usually don't let it soak at all, after its done I turn the column a few times and let it precipitate up and down and then I'm done.

I've got the first pic many times but never any of that more golden stuff. I was thinking of trying fresh frozen trim and see how that works. I've always just done dryer, cured weed

I also ball up a 30 micron screen and place that right along with gasket screen that comes with column maybe that helps filter out some junk

It's weird I don't feel like it's junk like plant particulate that makes it that way. Maybe lipids or something. It's cleaner when you look at it through light...just on the browned side til you pass light though it. The. It's on the yellowish gold side but never like that crazy shit that looks like honey color

I find that when I grind my material to fine end product comes out darker/cloudier. can you post a pic of the oil

Actually it's vice versa!

Top was green crack from less than a month or two old and the other is some jedi kush that's been in a 5 gal buckets for almost a year! I probably have more pics, just working at the moment!

@Crippykeeper I dunno man, I'm seeing picture after picture of some golden glory from trim on instagram after I posted that.

Seems to me that trichs are trichs, whether they are on trim or on buds. If they are fully formed ect obviously.

I'm going to try my hand in some dry sift actually. I think bho just isn't for me.

After buying all the equipment I could afford, vacuum chamber, closed column extractor and heat pad, I just seem to get such variances that it just ends up piss ing me off and I feel like a failure.

I can't seem to find the right people to talk to in order to fix it. Sometimes it looks good sometimes bad and I do the same process.

Dunno.

Bro I understand what you mean about the frustration that comes with a messed up batch. As for the trim opinion it comes from my experience of blasting trim aka mostly leaves I ended up with dark runny oil. What color is the butane oil mixture in your pan before you evaporate the butane. ?

@Crippykeeper what temps are you running? I think that could be my issue. Usually it's a nice gold color but not like crazy golden you know what I mean. By the time it's done purging it's like that slab I posted.

106f on my mat so oil is probably 102f I go full vac pump running for an hour then I close vales turn off pump and let it cook for 4-5 hours then come back run full vac again for another hour then depending on what bubbles I'm seeing I stop. Some bubbles are good. I wait till the bubbles lose that rainbow oil in water shine color then I flip patty vac once more for Swiss cheese effect and I'm done
