Hey guys , question is as thread title states.

What ec/ppm wand's/sticks are you guys using

Would prefer something hand held

And the cheaper is always better ( only reasonably new to this and havent got alot of fun tokens )

Thanks again guys !

HM Digital Aquapro - ppm meter & temperature - only $25, has worked solid with no calibration needed for over a year of continual use.

I got a cheap chinese TDS meter and so far so good. I don't take care of it, don't rinse it with water and it's on point. But I do plan on upgrading one day.

cheap TDS EC meters are ok. DON'T cheap out on ph meters though, you'll regret it, I did........totally ruined a grow. I bought an Extech PH100 Exstik for $100. Hurt like hell to spend that much but I've got about the best commercial meter there is, very accurate, and I've never had a problem since.

How did you almost lose a crop? Even the pricey ones should be calibrated fairly regular :(. My Bluelab was notorious for going out over a week.

Actually I';ve been looking at the BLue Labs, and they don't seem very... accurate. The lights just flash at the closest value.

A day after calibrating my cheap one, it apparently went way out of adjustment and gave a false reading when I was mixing solution.
withing 24 hours I saw ph issues in my plant, within 48 hours they were damaged enough to stunt them! THEN, my spare failed completely a month later, and it was brand new!

I check the calibration of my Extech monthly. it has not changed in a year and a half of use. I change the probe once a year, needed or not, its cheap insurance!

I use Milwaukee mw 802. Simple to use, simple to calibrate, and all in one tool.

pop22 is right about cheap insurance.

dont skimp on the gear. get yourself a bluelab combo meter. you can usually find them for 175-200 on amazon. ive used these things for a long time now, and theyve never done me wrong. the warranty on them is about as good as you can get, and the customer support is on point (just had them send me a new probe actually, 3 days between warranty claim and arrival of replacement. only issue ive had in 6+ years of using these things). in my opinion, its worth it to spend a few extra bucks initially rather than have to replace a device every year or two.

Yes I could see that happening. I mix the exact same amounts every time with 3 different ratios so pretty much have that dialed in :). I'm pretty anal and have a small container of solution and test weekly or more if I'm bored :).

I've had 2 blue lab combo meters for a few years now and have not mad any issues. If u take care of them, they will last.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this TDS meter works. My last one lasted for years. This one needs no conversion!!! It reads actual PPM's. No Mo Math for us Bros. So far it is very accurate too. I haven't tried the PH meter yet because I still believe they are all junk and don't want to take the risk.

I'm using the exact same pH and TDS meters. Have you ever calibrated the TDS meter? I haven't and I'm a little worried it might be off point, although I don't think TDS meters need that much maintanence as pH pens.

i had a cheap hm years ago that was always on point, lost in a move. then hanna combo, same lost in a move. after 3 more hanna's that took a shit in2-6 months i dropped the coin on a bl combo....it's been 3 months with no issues so far. hanna really went down the tubes. imo buying the cheap ones is a gamble, u can find a good 1, but most are trash.
