Power Generators

After doing some research on generators i have seen that most of them only work for a few hours off a tank. If that is the case how do people incorporate them into their grow rooms. Do they spend all day filling the tanks? Or am i looking at the wrong generators?

Thanks

Depends on what size gen your talking about. I have a 5,500 watt backup gasoline generator that will go for about 10 hours off 5 gallons. Or you can also get something like a generac generator that runs off propane or natural gas and will run continuesly(if your getting natural gas to your home). You can get them at home depot and other places. Or we have looked at generators that were 100kwh for use in hotels in rural areas in Africa and those cost 80000usd on up in multilpe hundreds of thousands.

Im using two 1000watt hps so the electric bill will be really high.. and i dont trust that whole "electric company is a business and they dont care how much you use as long as you pay on time" bs. id rather just use a generator for at least just the bulbs.

2000 watts really isnt that much. Thats a computer and playstation. Where I live the power is pretty cheap and the total for 4 months electric was just under 650usd. My house has a total of 5 rooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and attached 2 car garage. Out back I have a barn with 7 stalls for horses, and then a 30x30 utility room in the barn. I normally have around 2400 watts going. IfI had a smaller house Id still run the same cause like I( said it really not that much. But the generator is a great backup cause we lose power all the time down here with storms.
