does anybody know when your house gets flagged as a potential growing operation? what's the ratio in terms of kilowatt hours to square footage? is it the same throughout the US? or does it vary by city and state?????

this seems like pretty valuable info... and its a bitch to find. i'm particularly interested in long island, new york, but post for any areas you know of. im sure someone can use the info.

just pay your bill.. its the electric company not the pd

3000w per bedroom so if you have a 1 bedroom house dnt use more than 3000w

stealing electric is what gets ppl busted

the elec company does not report to the police dept. the pd has to already have suspicion to get your records and if they are getting your electric records you are already busted they just want more proof

It's not generally a matter of getting popped for your electricity USAGE. It can be an element in an investigation that was generally triggered by another event. Someone ratting on you, neighbor suspicions, etc.

Pay your electric bill and all should be fine. You really couldn't use enough electricity in a house to call that much attention to yourself. For all they know, or care you run a small business out of your house and you have a garage full of lathes and machines that draw huge power. Maybe your a welder, they really don't give a fuck, as long as you pay for what you use an don't otherwise arouse suspicion.
