How plants grow in a spurt during the night

It's quite abit of reading but the just of it is pretty much about plants utilizing dawn as a sort of alarm clock to start their daily growth spurt.
Which made me wonder if turning on lower wattage.
warmer spectrum lights for 2hrs or so then
switching to higher wattage lights would increase growth speed.

I haven't tested any of this however maybe you guys could give it a try .
I would be very intrigued as to what the results would be.
- Example -
(16hrs) high intensity - Just whatever you regularly use and get consistent results with.

( 6hrs) dark

( 2hrs) medium to low intensity) I would not use anything more than a quarter of the wattage of my normal veg light's (Or we would not rely be able to judge weather or not this is having any effect.

Were trying to simulate a sunrise type effect.

rep ???? I will name my first born after the brave soul with the constitution to test the theory :D

"During the day, the plant focuses on other tasks, such as the photosynthesis that produces its energy. And plants are not only responding to time of day, but also the length of daylight to control such things as flowering time and stem length," he added.
