Popping my cherry!! LA Confidential X Blue Dream (SOIL GROW)

Hey guys, this will be my very first time growing!

I picked up some clones from my favorite club: 1 LA Confidential clone and 1 Blue Dream clone.

I have some excellent soil in the side yard that I used last season for a ton of different produce; since we needed to do some repairs in the backyard, I decided to take out the garden and get ready to try my hand at growing cannabis.

This very first batch is going to be a more laissez-faire approach compared to my next batch. I'm going to do a minimal grow where I just do the necessary water and trimming and not much else. I've grown AMAZING tomatoes, watermelon, artichokes, green onions, elephant garlic, red leaf lettuce, mushrooms (edible not for high) and more throughout the years all using the same sort of philosophy and now I'm ready to see if that soil has the same magic in store for my weed.

I'm going to be pouring through my weedlopedia over the next few days to see what Cervantes has to say (just picked it up today), but for now I'm pretty stoked just to get these suckers in the ground.

Will post more pics after I put them in the dirt tomorrow :-)

Bushing out they are, oh yes!

These bad boys have REALLY taken to the soil, just as I predicted they are EXPLODING.. :-) :-)

I'm doubly impressed by the LA Confidential, I love how big the indica leaves are. It's not a very tall plant, but man it's stout! It's almost like an Iron Dwarf :P

I'm very excited to see how these green beauties continue to grow in the weeks to come. I've been keeping them on a pretty intuitive water schedule and so far they seem to be loving it.

Going to be grabbing some mantises and ladybugs here soon for pest control.

I'll post pics again in a week (maybe a little sooner).

They started to flower a few days ago, and they've continued to grow. They look like they're a bit over a foot now, I'm really impressed with their growth given that they've been in the ground less than 3 weeks. I'm really excited for my grow next year, I've decided to commit to sustainable outdoor grows (and i'll have also have a greenhouse available to me which i'm going to use to experiment with a few indoor hydro plants) and I'll be planting in March and going for a 8+ month grow if possible. Looking at the 8 month grow Cervantes did in the Encyclopedia is pretty incredible.. I want plants like that :)

I've noticed a couple of small pests on very few of the indica leaves and a couple of bites on some of the sativa leaves .. going to get those ladybugs and mantids here, and soon.
