Point me in the right direction

Its been awhile sense i've been on here but i would like to get back into growing and have a question. If i buy a pack of seeds n say they r f3's and i grow n seed those out. Will those seeds be f4's or would they still be f3's? If there is an artical that someone could point me to that would be great, thanks.

If the pack says f3's then they will be f3's.
if you get a male and female and the female gets pollinated then those seeds would be f4's.
If you just getting back into things i would suggest not worrying about what generation or anything else.
F3's are a way better starting point then most people use anyway.
