about 15in.... I would have apic but my digital camera is at my girlfriends house....I'm thinking it could be either one of those or a nitrogen probem because on the bottom fan leaves that are starting to turn yellow have reddish branches and the other branches it looks like are SLOWLY turning red too.....I have a 250w HPS that is about 2ft from top of plant

it did get kind of warm a couple days while I was at work but i think i made it cool enough with the fan i put in there..its blowing at the top of plant and in the gap btwn light and plant to help cool the area...i read somewhere that if theres to much heat that the leaves will curl so they dont get as much light and are able to kewl faster..is this true??? if so that could also be a problem

Your grow area shouldn't be above 80f, 86f max. Buy a thermometer, this is essential. Ideally, i believe, you want your grow space at 75/76f, but mine are doing fine at 79f. I had a lot of prob's with temp' as I'm not using an exhaust. We solved it by opening the door to the grow space.

yeah when i have the door open and the fan blowing it stays at house temp which is about 75f but at times i have to close the door because the light is way to bright to sleep with.... i know i should have set the light schedule to my schedule better but when I started I had alot of free time

If you keep closing the door with the lights on you are going to hurt your plants. With that door closed I bet the temps are in the 90's.

you are probably right because it feels hot to me sometimes so i know its gotta be hot for them....so you think if i hang a blanket in the door way to block the light and keep the blanket kinda open to ventilate, would it stay cool enough?? with the blanket i can at least shield some light but also keep some air flow

I tried that on my grow room and it didn't work. Essentially you are using the door as a way of exhausting the heat, blocking it up really will not help that much. It may work for you though, and it's gotta be worth a try. If not you could always buy something to cover your eyes when you sleep.

When you start flower, arrange it so the plants sleep when you do.

also what do healthy leaves feel like?? and what do the leaves feel like from to much heat?? if i know this maybe i can diagnose the plant and see if the other symptoms match this and i wont have to worry about other problems that this plant may have
