Ok as per the title I want to go vert but only have a 1mx1mx2m tent.

Can I say add 4-5 plants around the walls and scrog up the sides, hang a 600w hps in the middle (can add a 400w that I have if needed) I have fan and filter, plus a fan to blow the hot air up.

My current grow is a normally scrog, (photo attached) would I yield more changing to vert?

Any advice is greatly welcomed :)

Whats ur cycle like, and what you getting gpw?

You can vert scrog.

But its not gonna guarantee improvement.

.5 gpw on an 8 week cycle is pretty average and more than likely light orientation is not the problem. Scrogs yeild good in my experience, and I would prefer a horizontal to a vert one anyday

Does heat become more of an issue? I use a cool hood now
Actually most people see a drop in temp loosing a hood. I said that because with a v scrog, you wont have much room in a tent for oscillating fans for air movement. By having a fan that change the air out once a min, it becomes unnecessary.

1.5 gpw is pretty average with vertical. Sounds like Kiwi has been doing horizontal scrog. So he should see good results. A good dialed in grow can see up to 2.5gpw

I agree, 1.5 may be average amongst vert, but most dont aproach it bein an average grower.

But yeah tuned in vert or horizontal scrog or not, 2gpw is possible 1-1.5 consistently.

It just depends on what you want out of your system. Versitility, efficiency, more plants, less, diversity ect.

I go vert cause it coincides with my style of growing rather multiple strains, large randoms shapes and sizes, tight spaces, and effciency.

I saw a drop just from going from a wing to a parabolic. I love my parabolic. Its paired up with 400w mh just hanging. My version of air cooled is a box fan across the bulb. Lol

(Ive done aircoooled, my opinion is, if you design ur shit right, you wont need it.

Hey guys, this is sounding good, im going to run one more horizontal scrog and then switch to vert.

my current tent doesn't allow me to open all the side walls, so i'm going to invest in one that does allow me to, as it will make life so much easier being able to just roll up the side, scrog away and then close it up.

So are you going to have some kinda fencing up each wall and tie the plants back? Kinda like Marlo's set-up (over at Icmag)? Instead of a wire cylinder around the bulb with the plants around the outside and buds weaved through.
Peaked my interest there haha..about to set-up with vert 600w in the middle of a tube of green. But if your way works (if the light is close enough) the potential yield is far higher - substantially larger surface area.

hey kiwi, those tents are a pain in the arse alright, if you can get access to a good (commercial, upholsterers) sewing machine zips are like $5dollars a meter I put zip flaps on the top half of the other 2 sides of my tent, made access so much easier, you in nz or you just got kiwipaulie for the hell of it lol? could help you out on where to get it done if your in the south.

You know, i found that it was easiest to build a frame with pvc and use tarp zippers on the 4 corners. then you can open the whole thing up. They do have a limited life. I cut some wood strips to staple to the bottom of the plastic for weight. Worked out well.

The secret jardin tents have openings in the sides - pretty decent access. Just the back is out of reach.
The entire point of a tent is the ability to take it down and put it up again with relative ease. If this isn't necessary to you then tents are pretty crap imho. A properly built cabinet or room is far better as they have more strength, no holes, long life etc. Just can't put it away..
