I expect 1200w of hid/ umol equivalence out of your array. great. diy isnt a "light" its a home project. we are talking about manufacturers. and what you can buy put together and that has a warranty.
The topic is Pled is a great light. It's not. You have an arrogant tone for a person who isnt even fluent with the basic concepts and terms.
DIY is called that because it is indeed a project. It's also the best way to get an excellent, state of the art light. It's also an approach that verifies each component is of the highest quality and efficiency. Another approach to best quality would be to purchase a lamp which has a legit, verified reputation like PLC & Johnson and a few others.

Finally Pled are notorious for failing to last longer than a grow or two and for failing to satisfactorily uphold their warranty.

A p600 draws 368w at full power fyi
Thanks i was wondering about that. i know that it's all but impossible to determine the efficiency of the diodes they use. But a generous estimate would be 30-35%. So that 600w lamp is delivering ~120par watts. LOL and it''s ~ $700? Thats a scam

My light is a p600, it takes 350 watts from the wall and outshines 800w of hid. your cree array takes 600 watts from the wall. you are basically saying that v8 over there has more power than this v6 here. pointless
Your light is about the same efficiency (at best) as a typical SE Hortilux bulb. You are less efficient than a DE HPS. A 315 CMH will out produce your shitty PLED. Believe me, I owned a P450, they are complete shit. They CANNOT keep up with COBs at all, let alone DE HPS.

But continue to grow with it. This is why government works, brainwashing.

We already know the 420 members are arriving. The MarsHydro lights threads are popping up daily with strong backing and resistance to realize that they fucking suck and are less efficient than HPS.
lmao

You have a way with words @doz :hump:

That did make me laugh!

Youre hanging yourself with ignorance. A 350w Pled does not produce more par than a 800w hid. It doesn't period.

"
Advanced Platinum Series P600 600w<---first platinum stole the name "advanced" 2nd it's calling a third rate 385 w lamp 600w. It's a shameless, slimy approach to persuade the gullible to make a uninformed purchase.

V8 vs v6? no it's called a 600w light.

"Platinum LED lights have the HIGHEST PAR/LUMEN OUTPUT PER WATT of any LED grow light! 2x-3x the intensity of any other lights!"

LOL that is straight up liar liar pants on fire

This claim is sickeningly bogus. Briefly: Pled has not supplied a single shred of proof that it has tested itself against any top quality light. How does it even make sense that a 600w light which draws 385w is 2x or 3x more intense. It's a plain lie, a marketing fabrication. Not only that Pled doesnt supple the data sheets or even identify their diodes. Those cut rate diodes are not highly efficient. That 385 watt draw is likely producing 120 par watts. No one producing a 600w light would admit to those puny figures and expect to sell a light to a knowledgeable growers

Call me stupid... but I've just bought 2 of the P150 leds :dunce::dunce: Dunce...? Maybe not and let me explain why.., they were used - so cheap, half price of the new price (:

For me, I wouldn't have bought these if they were not a long rectangle shape! It would be a waste of a space that a good light could go in. I have bought 2 to supplement other lights. I have owned 2 of the little e shine white ones before too, so know exactly what I'm getting into here. I have used many better leds too, including Budmaster, area51 and california lightworks. Not many leds that fit alongside my other lights like these slimline Chinese specials  These panels fit in the gaps great and will assist in lighting up a big tent a real treat. I'll be using these 2 lights alongside 315w cmh 3100k elite agro, 250w hps, a 2ft 4 tube T5, a prakasa 120w, a G3 Smart led, all in a 5ft x 5ft area.

All the current leds I own are pretty wank by themselves, including the P150's... Together though they are going to rock my Grimm Brothers C'99 plants :hump:

When I want the best I'll go cob. Until then I'll keep using cheap shit like these to supplement cmh!

I was on 420 for a good while. Some of the pled users grow nice plants. But so do some of the mars growers. My first light, once i got the hang of it, grew some beauties. It was a mars 900, it drew about 515 watts. NO comparison at all to an efficient bright and cool cob. NONE

I started with led growing. I got 7 3/4 ounces from a white widow which is my best from a single plant under any light. I mainly used Osram leds, but sold them. I almost switched to cob a few weeks ago. But I'm going to wait... It's so cold in the UK and my cmh lamps are 2 grows old so need a good thrashing for 6 months more, I'll change before the summer.

These little leds will always come in handy for cloning and vegging plants. I use several set up's at once, so always have a space for small leds that hardly cost a penny to run

sounds smart. In winter i too need to fiddle with temps. Also you're right about the tech changing quickly resulting in lower prices. Those citizen cobs look killer as do the latest vero's. I might upgrade my old v29's

@Dankistino I'm proper crap at building things / diy, so I'll be taking a rather expensive route when I make the switch. I'll be using Budmaster cob-x9 leds. They use mini Osram cobs, have great fans too etc. Bit expensive tbh, but hey are quality. I've had 5 Budmaster panels, but want to grow under white light only in the long run.

In the UK Budmaster is the best option. There is Grow northern, but I think they are in between panels. There a few places in the EU like plant photonics and hans panel... but that's about it.

You are spoilt for choice in the US!

Ya ive heard that we do have much easier options here. I grabbed my cobs from jerry and i have old passive sinks from ebay. I paid top $$ for the drivers.

I loved the DIY process. I learned a ton and it was really simple to follow the steps of the actual smart DIYers on riu.

Thanks for the love @Purpsmagurps! Its a pleasure to meet you and solid work!

@Dankistino not sure where all your hate is coming from, take a hit a chill man. We only wanna help people grow dank Herb. I do wanna clear up a few things.

  1. EShine is not our manufacturer, i'm not sure where they got the design of their light of our light, but rip-offs happen pretty much on a daily basis in China. I'm sure I can find you a ripoff iPhone on my next trip to Hong Kong.
  2. We sell Platinum LED lights on our website. Amazon is a reseller of our fixture and added the Advanced to the name... not sure why. Probably for search reasons. We don't have control of their pricing or what the call it.
  3. We don't call our light P600w. We call it a P600 because it has 200 3w diodes, we found that by under powering the diodes at 60% we get much better efficiency.
  4. You can believe or not believe our comparison videos if you want... it's up to you, we have 1000's of customer on Facebook, Instagram, and many many other forums share pics of their grows every day. Talk to them....
I wish you the best of luck with your DIY kit. I know people with the skills can build some amazing lights. Others prefer to buy something online or off the shelf plug it in and watch their plants grow.

Keep on growing the dream peeps!

@Tjohnsoniv1200 Oh good. You are here to answer questions.

What diodes do you run (brand/model of each color)?
What drivers do you utilize?
Is your light UL Listed?
What is the efficiency level of your light?
How much PPFD does each of your lights put out?

By all means, make me a believer and I will purchase one today.

What diodes do you run (brand/model of each color)?
380nm/415nm/440nm/460nm/480nm/615nm/630nm/660nm/720nm/740nm/760nm Bridgelux (rather not share model numbers) I think i'm missing one of the diodes nm sorry!
Cree XML2 on the p4 and p9 ( 2700-3750K Warm White)

What drivers do you utilize? - Confidential

Is your light UL Listed? Not now, but our future commercial line TBD will have ETL and IP67 Water resistant rating.

What is the efficiency level of your light? 1.6 PAR/w or more depending on the model. I think most important is the yield per watt, which we've had plenty of customers get well over 1gram per watt.

How much PPFD does each of your lights put out?
PPFD measurements and video test are on our site: https://platinumgrowlights.com

By all means, make me a believer and I will purchase one today.
Good luck to you @doz! We only wish you the best of luck and the dankest buds no matter what light you choose.
