So I got about 40-50 plants in one gallon containers vegging in roots organic soil, I have been checking the run-off periodically and all the plants never have the same run-off PH!!! All potted in the same soil, all getting the same water...any idea's?? Also been using the PH paper strips which are useless, what are the best brands/kinds of digital PH pens? any help is appreciated

If you're short on cash, just get a Milwaukee which will set you back about $22 and it'll get the job done till you can get something better....

DONT WORRY about pH run-off, its BS. its a documented fact.
its all about wot goes in, not wot comes out..
i know this for a fact cos i tried it myself, i was testing the runoff (plants were growing great) and it was off so i lowered the pH and locked out Mag, soo... i dont bother testing run-off, its pointless.

I agree, my run off has almost always been between 6.5 and 6.7....Usually it's my TDS that spikes like crazy....Usually comes out over 2,000 regardless of what it is going in...haven't had any problems so I never really bothered with it...Tried lowering it to see if I could lower it in the run off and just ended up with a deficiency...Wondering what your thoughts on that is and if you've noticed the same?

I flushed last night with a pH of about 6.5 but runoff was about 7-7.2 Found that weird. Would expect it to be lower, but not sure why it wasn't.

ya funny how that works, I have just been using the Liquid Ph test kit and Phing till the water turns "yellow" and have not had any problems since...going in at about 6.0(as far as I can tell with the dye indicator) and run-off is anywhere from 6.0-7.5 maybe even 8...most of them are leveling out now though I think the lime I added to the soil mix is finally stabilizing it...
